The Gates Lyrics

Tears me up to get stuck at the gates
How you stay in one place like molasses
All you want
All you want
Is somebody to get off on

Alibi with the man that you offer
All the ways it's untrue, I won't fight
All you're not
All you're not
All dishonest in your heart

Lullaby and they play it on the guitar
Fire you up to get out and get some
All this is
All this is
But the bottom did get dropped out

All you want
All you want
Is someone to get off on

Sounds like a response to Reading in Bed a bit. So dreamy. All you want is someone to get off on is the only line that has a really coherent point, and a good one.

I hear the lyrics "I'll abide with the myth that you offer." I'm not so sure those are the right lyrics, but the ones that are posted don't make much sense to me. Also, the first line is definitely "Tears me up to *get stuck at the gates." It makes the speaker appear as if she is familiar with the situation which makes sense to me because the message she is sending out is presented in a very factual, insightful way. Anyways, I adore all the bonus tracks on the Japanese Edition of Fantasies, and this song is no exception. I just wish this song wasn't so obscure so I could find the right lyrics.

I'm quite sure its actually "the bottom did get dropped out"

Is it me or do you not hear:

all you want all you want

I think it's "all you won."

I don't hear the "t?"
