i interpert this as: he's really depressed, drinking by himself at night. missing the sun, and someone else. who to him the sun is always with, to me meaning she is always happy. and he doesn't understand this. maybe he doesnt understand it so much that he "just can't help it, i'm so tangeld up in you." aka he is just attracted to her because of her solid, constant happiness. so he drinks a lot, and thinks about her a lot too.

that's just what i take this as.

i interpret this song as he's depressed because his lovelife isn't that great, so he's drinking her away. and yet, he can't himself because he's so tangled up in this girl. and i agree with iheartmusiclove anddd Fwaffy. It is an amazing song with tons of depth.

I aswell think its about drinking away the pain.he knows he has no control over the situation,but his drinking he CAN control...and maybe that's a peace of mind to him (ya know the only thing he has control over at this point in his life)

and when he says, "well, it’s hiding on the other side of the world somewhere making someone’s day so much brighter well, for you, you are wherever the sunlight is" I think he's saying the light/sun is no longer in his life because the girl is gone.and maybe she's somewhere out in the world makind some other guy just as happy as she made the singer.and his life is dark because she's no longer around
