life and death... people come and go... it's part of our destiny

you ever have someone you care about just leave your life
where ? whats coming and you can't breathe right
the first time when i was 10 when i endured that pain
my friends dad was shot infront of my face, i saw brains,
she was nine, she was crushed, she was mine, i had a crush,
then she moved out of state, her moms abandoned her
i knew this kid in middle school, who refused to make friends,
because his dad was military, they be moving again

it's the passing of a grandparent, mom or dad
or a child, take advantage of the times we have
it's divorce, it's death
it's the lost regrets
but for every lost we find something more to connect
theres a plan, though we dont always know what it is
like my friend who got married but why/wife he couldnt have kids
then his mom passed away, we were stunned and torn
nine months later, their son was born

Chorus
this is our destiny
what is meant to be will be
it's out of our hands, part of the plan
respect time we have, enjoy the show because
people come and go
and when they go their this, where the older kids
it's the memories we make, its that ownership
it's the unknown fear, it's the fear we know
and how
people come and go

were trapped in a race against time,
againsts the some of us who runnin slower,
you never know when the grim reaper might be comin over
a boy watches older brother go become a soldier,
die overseas, now he barely sees his mother sober
his father left her, he don't know if he should love or loathe her
he wishes paps would just show up with a dozen roses
him and cousin joseph jumpin on the fuckin sophas,
screaming out the window with the city ?

Laughin, not fully graspin', a grapplin' with truth
smoking grass, hanging on the corner, tackling they youth
absentee parents and valances everywhere
chaos and ? surround them, but their eyes never tear
they share private stock, bitches, henessay, fistfights and enemies
they share the same pain, same blood, and same memories
they was everything that was clear but wasn't said
till he shows up to the crib, and finds his cousin dead

Chorus
this is our destiny
what is meant to be will be
it's out of our hands, part of the plan
respect time we have, enjoy the show because
people come and go
and when they go their this, where the older kids
it's the memories we make, its that ownership
it's the unknown fear, it's the fear we know
and how
people come and go

You ever have someone you care about just leave your life? Whether sudden or it's comin' and you can't breathe right, The first time I was ten when I endured that pain, My friend's Dad was shot in front of my face I saw brains, She was nine, she was crushed, She was mine I had a crush, The she moved outta state her Moms abandoned her, I knew this kid in middle school who refused to make friends, Cuz his Dad was military they be movin' again, It's the passing of a grandparent, Mom or Dad, Or a child, take advantage of the times we have, It's divorce it's death, it's the loss, regrets, But for every loss we find somethin' more to connect, There's a plan though we don't always know what it is, Like my friend who got married but wifey couldn't have kids, Then his moms passed away we was stunned and torn, Nine months later their son was born

Chorus: This is our destiny what is meant to be will be, It's out of our hands, part of the plan, Respect time we have enjoy the show cuzz (people come and go) And when they go they're missed, Whether old or kids, It's the memories we make it's the ownership, It's the unknown fear, it's the fear we know when our (people come and go)

Slaine: We're trapped in a race against time I guess that some of us are runnin' slower, Ya never know when the grim reaper might be comin' over, A boy watched his older brother go become a soldier, Died over seas now he barely sees his mother sober, His father left her he dunno if he should love or loathe her, He wishes Pops would just show up with a dozen roses, Him and cousin Joseph jumpin' on the fuckin' sofa, Screamin' out the window at the city while they're chuggin' sodas, Laughin', not fully graspin' or grapplin' the truth, Smokin' grass hangin' on the corner tacklin' they're youth, Absentee parents imbalance is everywhere, Chaos and loss surround them but they're eyes never tear, They share Private Stock, bitches, Hennesey, Fist fights and enemies, They shared the same pain, same blood and same memories, They was everything, that was clear but never said, Until he shows up at the crib and finds his cousin dead,

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
