Zombie Lyrics

I'm not listening to you
I am wondering right through existence
With no purpose and no drive
'Cause in the end we're still alive
Alive

2,000 years have been awake
Waiting for the day to shake

Dear all you who broke me
I am I am a zombie
Again Again you want me to fall on my head
I am I am I am a zombie
How low, how low, how low will you push me?
To go, to go, to go before I lie down
Dead

Throw smoke right off the tube
Kiss my gentle burning bruise
I'm lost in time
And to all the people left behind
You all walking dumb and blind, blind

And 2,000 years I've been awake
Waiting for the day to shake

To all the few who broke me
I am I am a zombie
Again again you want me to fall on my head
I am I am I am a zombie
How low, how low, how low will you push me?
To go to go to go before I lie down
Dead
Dead
Dead

To all the few who broke me
I am I am a zombie
Again again you want me to fall on my head
I am I am I am a zombie
How low, how low, how low will you push me?
To go to go to go before you lie down
Dead

i htink the song is about being pushed to your limits. taylor has often mentioned being overworked in interviews, saying how she was forced into the industry at a young age and was constantly working from then on. the song sounds to me like its about a girl whos being pushed beyond what she can actually do. shes been awake forever and has been waiting for the day to break free. she talks to the people who've wronged her and says they keep forcing her to fail by falling on her head. she's a zombie because like a zombie she can move and talk and appear alive but she is dead inside and shes just walking aimlessly through time.

It's actually 'to all of you who wronged me' but whatever. Different people hear it differently.

I agree with PurplePanther... she's telling anyone who has every wronged her that they have turned her into a corpse, but even though she's a zombie they are still trying to hurt her and won't stop until she's dead. It's a really powerful song I'm sure a lot of people can relate to (me included), the lyrics are incredibly well-written and beautiful, and, oh yeah, IT KICKS ASS. ^^

My Interpretation
Cover art for Zombie lyrics by Pretty Reckless, The

It's "to all the few who've wronged me".

I think she is saying that all the people who have hurt in the past have won. They've turned her into an uncaring, unfeeling "zombie".

it's "to all of you who've wronged me".and i agree with purplepanther about the meaning.great song.

I think she's basically saying screw the people who have hurt her and just how much are they willing to push her to her limits, and she sort of seems to say that it's kind of useless because she's a zombie she doesn't care or something like that...

Song Meaning

i think the lyrics are "to all the few who wronged me" instead of "broke me." also, on the first pre-chorus bit, you have "2000 years have been awake" when it's "2000 years i've been awake." :)

this song is fantastic and i cannot wait until a record comes out.
