Smashing the Opponent

Interesting song. Not sure I can put my finger exactly on what this is about.

I assumed it was about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the normal people (pawns) on both sides who are caught precariously in the middle.

I think is about a couple of friends who both feel guilty for something they do (a murder maybe) and one is comforting the other..

Just my own thoughts on this ^^

I heard this song was about how Dj's take all the credit for artists work. I can't really justify this meaning via lyrics, but if you watch the lyrics you can see how the Dj playing their song is depicted. He is named Dj Von Douche, and he is quite the Douche. He goes along showboating and getting all the attention and he is loved even though all he is doing is playing their song. Then when Infected Mushroom takes the stage there is no one left to listen to them.

This songs lyrics seem to describe a relationship in which someone is suffering with Borderline Personality Disorder, stuck in their own trauma guarded by their demons that lash out in violence against their significant other. The S/O is struggling to help them through their trauma, and regretfully succumbs to the the violence, lashing out in violence themselves in response. A lot of borderline relationships can devolve into this.

"Tempt me again and I will forget the truth" This kinds of speaks to the borderline tendency to interrogate their partner if they think they're lying about something, or if something sets them off. They tend to not accept any excuse unless its the one they assumed/feared, which is usually the worst case scenario. This is the cause for a lot of fights.

"Backing your decision is something I neglected to do" I assume this is the S/O realizing this game, and doesn't succumb to it. Of course, it's a lose/lose situation, either way the borderline person will get angry, but they know that it's better to not play into this trauma.

"If you feel rage to strike me with revenge I will be standing right here Waiting without fear For you" The S/O isn't afraid of their borderline lover's demons anymore. They found out that responding with anger and violence isn't working. When someone with BPD is having an episode, you need to show them love, and not be afraid of their trauma's demons. In a lot of failed borderline relationships, the S/O succumbs to the anger and lashes back out, or is fearful. This makes the demons say "See? We were right, you're a horrible person and everyone hates you" and reinforces the borderline person's trauma.

I guess everything is pretty straightforward, but, the first line is the hardest one... "Smack me again and I cant believe its true" Can be three things:

1. The type of slap you give to someone come back to reality (Like from the comedy movies...)
2. The type of slap you give to someone to scold them (Like a "how dare you!"-type of slap...)
3. (WIP - I forgot, but when I remember I'll edit this part. ^^) Either way, the character who sings this music doesn't believe that the slap actually happened or that he actually smashed the opponent (I cant believe its true)...
