Drop Out Lyrics

First is a quote from Grace Slick in the documentary Getting High - The History of LSD. Second is a famous quote from Timothy Leary.

You turn to drugs for a different angle on your problems.
You tune into the mentality changes that they motivate.
You drop out of society's idea of a 'good' productive member.
My opinion.

it's not "but we all do...", "but they all do" and with "they", he refers to drugs in general.

and it's not "you tun in, tune in and drop out", it's "you tend to tune in and drop out" it's obvious if you pay a little attention.

the quote from tim leary is actually "turn on, tune in, drop out," referring to LSD ("dropping acid.")

It's definitely not "You turn in, tune in, and you drop out" or "Turn on, tune in, drop out"
It sounds like "You turn to" which is why I ended up back here looking for it, but I agree with cabbagesoup, it's "You tend to" which would actually make sense.
When was this song made? The intro is like an electronic drum-thing, and I swear I've heard it used in something.
And how do you get "um" confused with "hmm"???

"You turn to, tune in, and you drop out." it should be "you turn in." but its not=/

yea i think we are all wrong, but it sounds like " you turn to, tune in(or union lol), and you drop out"
Well the song is def. about "dropping out" whether its with or without drugs.
