Down River Lyrics
some awfully nice
some dreadfully bad
but we will sing
wash the blood off our knees
cause our love breaks through rough seas
our ship will sail
And I don't understand how this world
would work
cause time will tell us nothing
I'll take a chance on something
down river, down river, down river, down
walk these stairs, put the pieces back together
go don't stop, go don't stop,
go don't stop now, go
but bells in your hallways
don't move you in the right place
so we will sing, cast our hopes out to sea
through our hearts break,
through violent winds our ship will sail
and I don't understand how this world
would work
cause time will tell us nothing
I'll take a chance on something
down, river, down river, down river, down
walk these stairs, put the pieces back together
go don't stop, go don't stop, go don't stop
go don't stop now, go...
I think it's all about getting on with life and not worrying what it's all about. They are saying even when you get old you won't understand it either. I like the depressing images of stairs and hallways - arduous and long, hearts breaking and missing pieces, violent seas. But the cheeriness of "Go, Don't Stop" just tells you that you can get through it all (sail out on your hopes!)
Lovely and brilliant song
yeah this song gives me don't give up vibes oh and i love how the song starts :D
I love this track! I love the rise and fall of their voice, the pitch - just fantastic!
This is my favorite song by them. It gives me that endurance to keep going no matter what. I always smile when I listen to it.
such a motivating song. its too bad this isn't seen a lot lately. this song really takes the opinion that we shouldn't dwell and what the world is doing and we should just live for ourselves or we end up growing old and going down river. we need to go and don't stop.
so we will sing, cast our hopes out to sea though our hearts break, through violent winds our ship will sail and I don't understand how this world would work cause time will tell us nothing I'll take a chance on something
