Death by Diamonds and Pearls Lyrics

She grew up in a nice neighborhood
But it didn't do her no good
Cause she's just a sum of her influence
And I can't tell you the difference
By the cracked windscreen on her car
Something is telling you don't know how lucky you are
You're just like the rest of those girls

They're all death by diamonds and
death by diamonds and
death by diamonds and
death by diamonds and pearls
death by diamonds and pearls

You got your figure all nice
But the heart stays colder than ice
You got 25 grand on the bubble
And you're the one telling me that you don't think you'll be trouble
I might be a fan of your insolence
But that don't make you the innocent
You're just like the rest of those girls

They're all death by diamonds and
death by diamonds and
death by diamonds and
death by diamonds and pearls

This song is so sick.... (the bass is amazing the second half of the second verse...) sick solo also.

What does "You got 25 grand on the bubble" mean please?

I think it's about how vanity can get the best of people, especially like the spoiled girl he knows. People kill themselves trying to be perfect and better than everyone else. And when people grow up rich and are just given everything they want, it creates a false sense of entitlement and the ideology that they can do no wrong.

"You got your figure all nice But the heart stays colder than ice You got 25 grand on the bubble And you're the one telling me that you don't think you're in trouble I might be a fan of your insolence But that don't make you the innocent You're just like the rest of those girls"

I'm really not sure, but if I had to guess, this verse might be referring to spending excessive amounts of money on plastic surgery. "25 grand on the bubble" doesn't make a lot of sense, but the previous line, "you got your figure all nice," is pretty obviously about someone who has changed their figure in some way, likely with plastic surgery, so maybe "25 grand on the bubble" is just a badly phrased metaphor for having cosmetic surgery on whatever body part is supposed to be the "bubble." Haha. Really, I don't know.

My Interpretation

I feel the line "you got twenty five grand on the bubble" is about gambling. Once you put down your bet its on the bubble. The great thing about music is it means different things to different people. Amazing band and a great tune!
