With that we got it
We're undefeated
Give me a long kiss
Like you mean it

A little bloodshed
But it was worth it
We made a promise
After this we'd quit

Turn on the motor
Keep off the headlights
To the cabin
In the cover of night

Slow down
Wheels on the gravel
Use the key
Hidden in the panel

Wood stove
Like a warm heart
Wall shadows
This is the best part

Put it in the chest
Under the trapdoor
Unroll the carpet
Across the cold floor

Like we planned it
When the clock chimes
Turn around once
And tap three times

Remember it'll all blow over
We'll meet again when the temperature is lower
If we don't turn each other in dear
We'll be fine

Time to disappear

With that we got it
We're undefeated
Give me a long kiss
Like you mean it

A little bloodshed
But it was worth it
We made a promise
After this we'd quit

We made a promise
After this we'd quit

Remember it'll all blow over
We'll meet again when the temperature is lower
If we don't turn each other in dear
We'll be fine

Time to disappear

Time to disappear

We disappear

Remember it'll all blow over
We'll meet again when the temperature is lower
If we don't turn each other in dear
We'll be fine

Time to disappear

The song is about 2 lovers that have committed a crime that has left them in possession of some kind of valuable loot. They go to a cabin and hide the loot in a chest and put the chest under a trapdoor. They then promise each other that they'll return for the treasure once the heat from the crime they've committed has blown over. The girl tells her lover that they'll be fine as long as they don't turn on each other and turn themselves in.

Beautiful song with uncomplicated but emotive lyrics. For me the line "Time to disappear" evokes the feelings of excitement and anxiety that the couple is feeling. Also very cool vocals :)

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
