Elope Lyrics

Turgid waters of desire
Animate my limbs once more
Dance me, deserted and slow
Across your ocean and your floor
Into arms of evermore,
Lay on the shore
Ooh la la x16

In the garden of your lord
Waits a figure in a cloak
Slumping, snaring time
But the mill is speeding up
And is begging you to dance me
Fast and slow to sleep
Lalala..

And the soldiers you adore
Hang wreaths around your door
Honoring your death

Thanks, but I think it's "Animate my limbs once more". I'm seeing them tonight. I should take the time to transcribe what I hear.

"animate" = better. is this the one i hear the French in? i should be able to hear French if i listen enough.

The title? Elope-- It's usually used like, "two lovers running away to get married," but Alden is gay, and gay marriage is sometimes not allowed or tolerated. Mybe going a little far, but I think it's interesting.

'Got nothing for what the lyrics could mean, tho.

My Opinion

Undeniable themes of lust for, & romanticizing of death. This eerie tune is a beautiful description of crippling depression.

1st verse (The complicated lust for leaving behind this Earth) (veil between life/death) (the certainty of eternity after this life)

2nd verse (a place of non-feeling, where time is no longer a concept) (life on Earth getting worse) (temptation of death)

The soldiers you adore = friends, family who seem otherwise content with their own lives The last line is definitely "Honoring your death"

Living is one of the most impossible things when you fully recognize how much easier -not- living is. This song is perfect.
