But darkness falls likes shattered pieces Dangling, shimmering Torn and tattered and crowned Oh I'll not be told "No" to "No More!" [the darkeness is whatever is making him feel bad, and its in shattered pieces which take longer and are harder to pick up and thorw away, the shimmering showing its hard to ignore or that it holds light]

[i cant really explain this part cuz im not exaclty sure lol some help?]

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive And it's alright Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light Of my treacherous life [self expainatory. but, just a thought, maybe he tries to overcome something but he fails and it makes him scream in frustration, and beg someone or something that he overcomes it, and he sighs in either sadness or acceptance, then he's comforted by the confident assurance that he'll be feeling better soon and that his life will turn for the better]

If I had hands I'd hold up high My lofty dreams and my alibi's real name But I have no strength So I toss and I turn and I spit in the urn There's a ghost in your eye There is someone that knows more than I But I'm quick to deny [no hands means he cant make or hold anything and if he did he would accomplish his proud dreams and be with the person he likes, in this case the alibi or excuse of why he cant suceed. he tosses and turns cant relax and stay still, im unsure of the urn part, ghost in the eye means the way someone looks at things has changed or died, he knows he doesnt know everything but likes to beleive he does]

this is my interpretation of the song and its like what ive been going thru and how ive been feeling latley. one of my favorite songs by them, it always brings my spirit up when everything seems to be falling down. my own way of making light.

i think i like this song the best other than cuddle fuddle his voice is so amazing and diffrent and i like diffrent love his voice and i love who is ever druming the drumming is nice love this song.

Beautiful! It's weird because all of the sudden they started playing Passion Pit at my job (Icing). I get really happy whenever this song comes on, because it's my favorite of theirs. Random band to play at Icing, but they play The Shins too, hahaha :) And when I say something about these bands to my co-workers they have no idea what I'm talking about.

Such an optimistic song. Everything about it is so beautiful. It's just one of those songs to make you pull forward. :)

" i think that he means that theres someone whos more mature and knows more, but he still wants to prove his self worth so he draws attention to himself. but now hes making light of it and illuminating his situation, if that makes sense.
