Stop me before,
if only we knew what it felt like to live once more
(what just happened, the end just happened
i read the caption and designed a new fashion
the end of the world a brand new reckoning
i admit i was irrational)
poetic promise in my words
this is not just to get a reaction

(greed will swallow your eyes
and rape your senses)
allowing truth to be erases
but your mind never lets go
we never let go...

(building pyramids on collosal grids
it's not that serious
i know why i'm losing my mind,
{society is blind})

we never let go

(you can walk out the back door,
but no one will ever know you were here)

i'm coming home just to end the world
saving everyone except for the girl
maybe than they'll listen, maybe then they'll listen
(if i could sing, i'd write you a thousand songs
i tried to smile but my lips were cracked
i hope you can see beyond these teeth
i hope you can see beyond my teeth)

its like i'm burning just to come clean
i still don't know what you need
and i still don't know what you need
(life's a conspriacy, forget the point that i was making)
pride crawls through my veins,
circulating in the black rain
(thanks for putting words in my mouth
there's a guy melting into his couch)
it's like i'm burning just to come clean
and i still don't know what you need
i still don't know what you need
(life's a conspiracy, forget the point that i was making)
pride crawls through my veins
circulating in the black rain
(it's not obtuse, its cute
weery leary, you're so dreamy)

{Evan is the walrus}

let's toast to the lasers baby

(billboards for every lie
a catch for every truth
our minds are controlled by promises that never hold their weight
weilding the wildabeast
having a grand ole feast
i am a stone man
in a hot iron chair
tv help me not to care
lets set sail over the mountain
and down the fountain)

remove the lines across your face
i'm coming home just to save the girl (save the girl)
after everythings gone we'll still remain

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
