Turn Right Lyrics

Pick up all your tears
Throw 'em in your backseat
Leave without a second glance
Somehow I'm to blame
For this neverending racetrack you call life

Just turn right
Into my arms
Turn right
You won't be alone
You might
Fall off this track sometimes
Hope to see you on the finish line

You're driving all your friends out
At your speed, they cannot follow
Soon you will be on your own
Somehow I'm to blame
For this neverending racetrack you call life

Just turn right
(Turn right)
Into my arms
Turn right
(Turn right)
You won't be alone
You might
(You might)
Fall off this track sometimes
Hope to see you at the finish line

I did all I could
And I gave everything
But you had to go your way
And that road was not for me

So turn right
Into my arms
Turn right
You won't be alone
You might
(You might)
Fall off this track sometimes
Hope to see you at the finish line

i COMPLETELY agree with ArchieNJonas4ever. It's saying that he wants her and if she wants him then she's going to have to "turn right" to be with him. You can't always do things the way they're supposed to be done. You have to "turn right" if you want something bad enough.

The song is so wonderfully written! This and black keys.... i wish i had written these songs <3 x

Ah, this song - beautiful, if I do say so myself. The true meaning is not completely evident until the bridge, when Nick sings

I did all I could And I gave everything But you had to go your way And that road was not for me.

This song, the way I take it to mean, anyway, is pretty much capped inside that bridge and last chorus. It is speaking about a girl, and how the first person in this song really loved them. Its talking about this second person as a girl with a dream that will soon lead her away from everything in search of it. The first person says that

Somehow I'm to blame For this neverending racetrack we call life.

This means that the second person is probably upset with him about something, but she makes it seem like she thinks its his fault she's always in this 'race'.

Hope to see you on the finish line.

Alright, now we're getting down to it. The whole point is that this girl is on the 'racetrack', the 'road that was not for me'. The first person is telling her, just 'turn right, into my arms', you won't be alone, you might fall, but I'll see you at the finish line. He's trying to say that he's not to blame for this racetrack, but he's the cure. If she just turns to him, she'll reach the finish line.

I'm not as 100% sure about this one as I was about 'black keys', but this is pretty much what I take it to mean.

Enjoy this song even if it makes no sense to you :)

i think this song has to do with a loved one that was leading a life (sinful) and no matter how much he would try to stop them, they wouldn't listen. he tried again and failed. so he tells them theres nothing else he can but wait and hope they make the right choices, and if they do, he'd be waiting to help them get through it. and the "turn right" part has to do with a racetrack, always making left turns. telling them that they don't always have to do what everyone else is doing and they don't have to follow the grain. he hopes they choose the right way (sinless) so they go to heaven. it doesn't have to be interpreted as a "jesus song." thats whats great!

i agree with musicspinstheworld but i also think that the line "hope to see you at the finish line" could be that the 2 people go their seperate ways but he hopes that they will both end up in the same place and be reunited.

songs itself if beautiful and so amazing to hear them sing it live like i did last night!!

My Interpretation

actually, this song is talking about how on a race track, you only turn left, the circle goes counterclockwise so you are never turning right. So its a metaphore for life, if you only do things the way your supposed to, you only turn left, but if you turn right, then you will experiance things you otherwise wouldnt have and these things may be better in the long run. When you go the opposite way, sometimes you go off the track, but no matter what, on a circle youll end up at the beginning aka the finish line. and hes saying even if she goes a diff way, hell still be there for her

this is just an amazing song, end of story.

This song is beautifully written. A racetrack is a nice comparison to life. But the meaning is still a bit fuzzy to me. In a nutshell, I think this song is about a fight between a guy and a girl that never gets resolved. (Which is explained in the bridge)

This might be a bit off, but I think the girl is used to being "perfect" all of the time, and then she realized that she cant have it together every second of every day. She might be scared of making mistakes. The way she might cope with her problems is by "running away", or going really fast on a race track. For example, "At your speed, they cannot follow" I guess the guy is trying to comfort her in saying that she might make a lot of mistakes through life, or fall off of the race track, which is ok. But until she sees the bigger picture and turns right, she will never make it to the finish line (her boyfriend). The guy is probably stepping back and waiting for her to realize what is truely important in her life.

lol, I hope that made sense... XD

i think maybe someone got into a wreck and died and now the jobros have made a song about how serious a wreck can be. It could be that someone they knew passed in a car accident and they've written this song in their memory. Whatever the reason, i love this song its a beautiful song. this one is one of my favorites.
