Wall Lyrics

I'm gonna paste you up
Cover you in wallpaper
Screw shelves into you
And call you a wall

That's all you are to me
Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house
This is no white abode

You can have skirting board shoes
And plug sockets on your knees
I'll hang a painting on your lip
And put tinsel 'round it at Christmas

Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house
Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house

You can't keep us inside much longer, pal
We've seen the view from the window
You can't keep us inside much longer, pal
We've seen the view from the window

It's glorious outside
Have you seen the time?
Have you seen the tide?
We'll sing all night:
We need cohesion

It's glorious outside
Have you seen the time?
Have you seen the tide?
We'll sing all night:
We need cohesion

As time keeps moving
We keep losing our rights
Freedom is not the choices
Between what job and what car

You can just look back into history
To find corruption and mystery
And if we don't take note
We'll wake up in the same boat

Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house
Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house

It's glorious outside
Have you seen the time?
Have you seen the tide?
We'll sing all night:
We need cohesion

It's glorious outside
Have you seen the time?
Have you seen the tide?
We'll sing all night:
We need cohesion

Have you seen the time?
Have you seen the tide?

Grit your teeth, then break the glass
Now sprint and don't look back
Full pelt into the dense forest
And ask him:
"What's your thoughts on lionising?
What's your thoughts on tensions rising?"
Deep in the dense forest

Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house
Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house

Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house
Trying to keep people inside
Inside your sordid little house

Dude a lot of these lyrics are wrong. "Screw shelves into you and call you a wall" "This is no white abode" (reference to Sorry you're not a winner) "You can have skirting board shoes and plug sockets on your knees"

It's "trying to keep people inside" both times, and it's "sordid" not "sorded."

"To find corruption and mystery"

Also I think it's "have you seen the tide?" cause on one of them you can really hear the D at the end.

"What's your thoughts on tensions rising?" instead of "watch your thoughts all ____ rising"

My Interpretation

It's glorious outside (Have you seen the time?) Have you seen the time? We'll Take All Night We need cohesion It's glorious outside (Have you seen the time?) Have you seen the time? We'll Take All Night We need cohesion

and i think its

Spread your teeth and break the glass Now sprint and don't look back Full Pelt isn't the best for this (Adhere) Watch your thoughts all ionising Watch your thoughts on tensions rising Deep in the dakrest rooms <----(Doesn't sound right)

Trying to keep people inside,...

Spread your teeth and break the glass Now sprint and don't look back Full Pelt isn't the best for this (Adhere) Watch your thoughts all ionising Watch your thoughts on tensions rising Deep in the desolate rooms

I agree with you apart from darkest, which i'm sure it actually says desolate meaning uninhabited. Does fit with the meaning too.

isnt its have you seen the day have you seen the time?

Yeah the "No way to go" line definitely sounds like "This is no white abode". First of all it's obviously a reference to Sorry, You're Not A Winner (since the themes of the album continue on from Take To The Skies, just with less aliens, like Skies was the invasion, Common Dreads is the human reaction. Or something) and the song is about people railing against the government and modern life, with White abode being a ideal world and the "house"/world not being that way.

It's suttle not suddle. and this song has to do with how they contain us. I was in math class today looking out the window when I was listening to this song. It was interesting. I hate my math class. It's so boring

It's actually 'subtle'.

oh, and it's 100% definitely scuttle. look at this definition. n. 1. (Com.) The weight when the tare has been deducted, and tret is yet to be allowed. v. i. 1. To act as sutler; to supply provisions and other articles to troops.

yea, our government and the way people think now, we are trapped into walls, and we never change, we only put things on what we think exist, and move on thinking this way the whole time, with out ever exploring what's either outside of these walls, or under, or even above the place in which they are being contained with these walls. ok i'm done now. it's a great song though. good stuff

Watch your thoughts, all tension is rising. I think.

Perhaps about being closed minded? Almost like being consumed in the thoughts we have been fed and not looking outside of the lies, outside the walls that we have built around ourselves to conceal the truth.
