All That I Am Lyrics
Well the lights go down in Brooklyn
As she's walking out the door
Oh and they're lining up like soldiers
Going off to fight the war
And all the colors look like fireworks
In skies she knew before
But the nights can't hide the days
Whoa, that the tears roll down her face
Oh, and the light hits those eyes
As she's dying to say
Just take me away
Well through fog that sits like blankets
And that's drowning out the glow
You can hear voices loud
And sing out a song nobody knows
But to her it sounds like home
But the nights can't hide the days
Whoa, that the tears roll down her face
And the light hits those eyes
As she's dying to say
Just take me away from all that I am
Just take me away from all that I am
Well the fog sits like blankets
And it smothers the glow
Cause the nights can't hide the days
Whoa, that the tears roll down her face
Oh, and the light hits those eyes
As she's dying to say
That the nights can't hide the days
Whoa, that the tears roll down her face
Oh, and the light hits those eyes
As she's dying to say
Just take me away from all that I am
Just take me away from all that I am
Just take me away from all that I am
Just take me away from all that I am
As she's walking out the door
Oh and they're lining up like soldiers
Going off to fight the war
And all the colors look like fireworks
In skies she knew before
Whoa, that the tears roll down her face
Oh, and the light hits those eyes
As she's dying to say
Just take me away
And that's drowning out the glow

Just take me away from all that I am

Whoa, that the tears roll down her face
Oh, and the light hits those eyes

Just take me away from all that I am
Just take me away from all that I am
Just take me away from all that I am
Just take me away from all that I am

their live version of this song tends to make me cry. it's just beautiful. to me, this song sounds like home. you go boys, and keep making your marvelous music.
I too love their live version of this song - only I don't have their live version under "Parachute" - instead it's under "Sparky's Flaw".
Not gonna lie... I kinda miss their old name.
I wish they were still Sparky's Flaw, too. Granted, back when they were still called Sparky's Flaw, I wasn't really old enough to independently choose my music. I had a whole lot of t-shirts, though, that said Sparky's Flaw on them... they don't fit anymore.

Anyhow, they had to change their name because Nivea was having them do a song for their commercial and they didn't want a band whose name had the word "flaw" in it.

I'm getting a sense from this song that there's this girl who is a close friend of the singer, and she's alone in a new place (a new city, perhaps), but she's feeling lost and therefore nostalgic for home.
