New Day

It means what it means to you but to me it's about hope as long as you are prepared to take the step, whatever it takes to create a new day. "Awake in this new light, I'm alone in this room" means there is no one with me, but I'm not coming back to where I was. And then there's the following line - "are we waiting, for the saviour, I'm so sick of waiting, I've been waiting, my whole life" which says I'm not waiting any longer,I'm going to change what is and if I have to do it myself, I will. Inspirational.

Simple Boy is coming to terms with his consciousness. he's awake and alone. Goliath (the keepers of his prison) found him, and stripped him of everything he felt was important.

a New Day, he is now travelling the path to his freedom. Simple Boy realizes that others are watching. some are trying to keep him from achieving his freedom. some are merely wanting to be saved.

Simple Boy is hoping that the few people that he actually wants to follow are able to watch what he's doing, provided they stop waiting for someone else to save them and instead make the effort to save themselves.

I hear this: "Sit down, lighten your own This storm is coming, you should stay home But I feel warm"

as this: "Sit down, lighten your load This storm is coming, you should stay home But I fear you won't."

Okay so I suffer from the disease of addiction and found my way to recovery. I’ve been on both sides of the fence. So when I heard this song this is automatically how I felt it related to me and how I interoperated the song. Some people may completely understand it, some may have no idea or clue to what im saying. It all comes down to your experience.

How did they find me? --------> Because they know where you will end up How did they know? ----------> Because they have been there! This misconception of fate ----> That you can’t beat this addiction, a forever empty vessel I’m about to let go --------> Giving in to your moment of clarity

I agree, He has been waiting for 'god' (although they never say "god") to change his life, "I'm so sick of waiting, i've been waiting my whole life" Its time to take your life out of 'gods' hands and put it into your own.

I especially love the line, 'hey, let's get lost in the crowd,' because it's kind of like, 'hey, let's be anonymous, even if it's just for a little while.'

This is one of my favourites from the album, and the one that gets stuck in my head the most.

Why did they follow me home...?

To me its about self redemption.Getting out of the hole that has been your life with 'a new day'. the lines " How do you all speak, with a lying tongue? How do we all sleep, with a dying sun? " Is the best part of the song for me.also the solo/riffing part at the close is a killer

For me, the stand-out from Sound Awake, thus far. Which is a hard thing to say, as it's an album which really ought to be listened to in full, rather than on a song by song basis.
