Demon League Lyrics
Hide away from it all
Say tommorow it comes, and then...
I'm alone.
Suppose...
I know...I know...
The demons call
Hide away from it all
Say tommorow it comes, and then...
I'm alone.
Suppose...
I know...I know...
The demon call...
Say tommorow it comes, and then...
I'm alone.
Suppose...
I know...I know...
The demons call
Hide away from it all
Say tommorow it comes, and then...
I'm alone.
Suppose...
I know...I know...
The demon call...

To me, it seems that the whole album is about coming to peace and understanding with yourself, the way things are, and the way you are. The songs are pretty much about everything you could possibly deal with as you get older, and "Quiet Riot" almost brings a close to things. However, thirty seconds later, "Demon League" comes in and we have Devy lying awake at night, staring at his bedroom ceiling, not quite at peace with things yet. Something's still bothering him, like he knows he still has a lot of inner demons to resolve. As human beings, we must develop. And if we choose to develop in a way in which we better ourselves, our work is never done.
that is a brilliant interpretation Ampulex, I doubt even Devy could put it better than that!

I think it's about dreading something that you know is either inevitable or very likely, and wanting to hide away from whatever possibility of that bad doing.
I definitely agree with Ampulex, although Quiet Riot gives what appears to be some sort of closure, in the end, Devin still finds himself in a state of uncertainty. I feel like he was somehow involved in religion growing up (based on things he has said, like having felt anger towards organized religion), and the worry / fretting about the possibility of eternal punishment (his words, not mine), or just not finding truth, continually makes him feel uneasy.
