I've been told
Ties
One child away
For Rome to spare
I can wait child
And write songs
By
Long beheaded
I am grateful
For
Roaming
And so I long for your econ
Either side
Era I
Rest tonight

Oh ho ho

Now
Autumn falls down
And I can hear the sound
Autumn falls down
Autumn goes down
And I till the ground

All I can ?

    I hear it as:

I've been told, tied, one child, await for Rome to spare. I can wait, child and write "Its only an Empire long beheaded." I am grateful, roaming and so I long for your beacon Either side, Ere I rest tonight.

Round Autumn falls down And I can hear the sound (?) Oh autumn whirls around Autumn falls down Autumn goes down

and past that it gets a bit messy...

Mirbehr has it more or less right.

    According to Pandora.com:

i've been so tired one child I wait for room to spare i can't wait child and ride it's all an empire long beheaded

i am grateful roaming and so I long for your beacon riverside where I rest tonight

down autumn falls down autumn falls down and I can hear the sound all that for miles around it

autumn falls down autumn falls down and I just roam around oh autumn never lands

autumn never lands autumn falls down all i can do to end it i can never end it

autumn falls down autumn falls down all i can do to end it i can never end it

I have listened to many live versions and I have decided that what he sings for the CD and live are separate things. He sings a variation of the following lyrics live (The variation being on the mumbled part, sometimes he repeats "Lock them doors" sometimes he says, "I lock the doors" etc.) Watch some of the Concubine youtube clips as a confirmation.

I've been so tired One child await for room to spare I can't wait child and ride It's all an empire long beheaded I am grateful Roaming, and so I long for your beacon: riverside where I ... I rest tonight.

Whoa-oh, Whoa-oh, Whoa-oh Whoa-Whoa-oh Whoa-oh, Whoa-oh, Whoa-oh Whoa-Whoa-oh Round up like a blood hound and I could never find her sufferings not around here, so lock them doors Round up like a blood hound and I would never find her sufferings not around here, so lock your doors Round up (so lock them doors) like a blood hound and I would never find her, sufferings not around here so lock your doors, Round up like a blood hound and I would never find her sufferings not around here.

    I know, I know, I know, I know, I know etc.

I really love this song and have been waiting for "official" lyrics to be posted and maybe I am the only one... but this is what I hear (at least for the beginning):

I’ve been so tired one child, I wait for Rome to spare I can wait child and write it’s only an empire long beheaded I’m grateful for roaming and so I…

I think the lyrics mmmpeaches posted were correct. The next line I believe to be

...and so I long for your beaconed rivers...

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
