I can't believe Im the first to comment this! Dan & Gavin sang this acoustic a few days ago and they were amazing. Great Song.

My favorite off the new album, great tune, great lyrics. I think this one could be about his relationship with god, how he needs god to keep on going, and he might be praying that one day he will come back. I might be thinking to deep into the words, but Dan has a way of doing that with his lyrics, so it might just be the easily seen love song from the words

This song is about losing someone.

Its about not being over someone, when you wonder if they are "dreaming of me now" and not feeling like you are good enough for them. Needing them in your hour of need but they arent there for you anymore. Also although you want them so bad, they dont return the feelings and dont really care about you "You paint my broken heart Like some awful piece of art". But in the end of the day, you have to pick up the pieces and go on without them, eventhough it hurts like hell

I think it's about how a couple's going through a (long) "nightmare", and one of them (let's just say the guy) feels there's "something else waiting for you" because he knows that the other person deserves more. But then the girl leaves him all of a sudden, and even though he probably knew it was going to happen, he's totally heartbroken, with just her "holy ghost" (their memories). After a while, he starts to "keep on without you", but "prays you will come back one day".

Similarly, in the music video, it showed loved ones seem to be separated for some reason, making their lives seem empty. Both sides definitely miss each other, but they both want the best for each other, and "keep on without you", even though it still isn't the same because they are missing each other.

Maybe it's not literal like how he has written it but it could be about how a relationship has fallen apart because the other person wants to move onto something better implied by "must be something else waiting for you." And he's broken and hasn't entirely moved on wishing the other person will hopefully just come back some day but in the end he tries to get himself to move on but it's not completely clear that he does because he says 'will' and not 'can.' but it does get more optimistic at the end. just my take. :)

In complete honesty to me it sounds like he was in a relationship with someone who died

I could be wrong, obviously; but I was listening to it the other night and found it quite depressing and immediately thought of that.
