Sleep All Day Lyrics
Well I shouldn't sleep all day,
you'll waste the afternoon.
'Cause I know if I'm up all night
you'll be going to bed soon.
So wipe the sleep from your eyes
and I'll wipe 'em out of mine too.
If we try to hold on,
then I'll try to hold on to you.
Well I shouldn't sleep all day
but it's half past noon.
'Cause I know we're taking a break
and I know you're leaving me soon.
So if you try to be nice
then I'll try to be nice to you.
And if you try to hold on
then I'll try to hold on to you.
So wipe the sleep from your eyes
and I'll wipe 'em out of mine too.
So if you try to be nice
then I'll try to be nice to you.
And I shouldn't sleep all day
and waste the time with you.
'Cause I know we're taking a break
and I know we both need the room.
So wipe the sleep from your eyes,
and I'll wipe 'em out of mine too.
And if you try to hold on
then I'll try to hold on to you.
you'll waste the afternoon.
'Cause I know if I'm up all night
you'll be going to bed soon.
and I'll wipe 'em out of mine too.
If we try to hold on,
then I'll try to hold on to you.
but it's half past noon.
'Cause I know we're taking a break
and I know you're leaving me soon.
then I'll try to be nice to you.
And if you try to hold on
then I'll try to hold on to you.
and I'll wipe 'em out of mine too.
So if you try to be nice
then I'll try to be nice to you.
and waste the time with you.
'Cause I know we're taking a break
and I know we both need the room.
and I'll wipe 'em out of mine too.
And if you try to hold on
then I'll try to hold on to you.

this song is great, it can be translated for a young love or an old one.
It's about a relationship heading, inevitably, to its doom. They're taking a break, they've been having conflicts, and it just feels like the end is looming. It leaves the speaker lethargic, lying there, purposeless ... so he offers a few words if his partner meets him halfway: "If you try to hold on, then I'll try to hold on to you."
I feel like it's about a relationship, but one of them is traveling and that is causing the issues. Several lines seem to hint at them being in different timezones.
