White Horse (Taylor Swift cover) Lyrics

Say you're sorry
That face of an angel comes out
Just when you need it to

As I pace back and forth all this time
'Cause I honestly believed in you

Holdin' on,
The days drag on
Stupid girl, you should have known
You should have known

That you're not a princess
This ain't a fairytale
You're not the one I'll sweep off your feet
Lead you up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood
This is a small town
I was a dreamer before I went and let you down
Now it's too late for me and my white horse
To come around

And baby, I was naive
Got lost in your eyes, I never really had a chance
My mistake, I didn't know to be in love
I had to fight to have the upper hand

I had so many dreams about you and me
Happy endings, now I know

That you're not a princess
This ain't a fairytale
You're not the one I'll sweep off your feet
Lead you up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood
This is a small town
I was a dreamer before I went and let you down
Now it's too late for me and my white horse
To come around

And there I am on my knees
Beggin' for forgiveness
Beggin' you please
Just like I always wanted but I'm so sorry

'Cause you're not my princess
This ain't a fairytale
You're gonna find someone someday who might actually treat you well
This is a big world
That was a small town
There in my rear view mirror disappearin' now
Now it's too late for me and my white horse
Now it's too late for me and my white horse
To catch you now

Whoa, try and catch you now
Oh, it's too late to catch you now

This song is a lot sadder than Taylor's version. Mostly because love songs sang by Guys are more passionate just because a Guy falling in love is more rare than a Girl falling in love. He talks about how he knew he screwed up and he's sorry, but he knows she won't take her back. This version, in my opinion, is a lot better

I Prefer This Version, He Shows Passion, He's Amazing

Obviously About Letting Someone Down.

I agree with everyone above me.....

To me this song is about a guy who has let down a girl.

"I was a dreamer before I went and let you down Now it's too late for me and my white horse To come around"

and he's saying that he sorry, but she should have known not to take things to seriously because it's the real world.

"That you're not a princess This ain't a fairytale You're not the one I'll sweep off your feet Lead you up the stairwell This ain't Hollywood This is a small town"

but at the same time the blame is still on him because even though neither of them should have expected much it grew into something more.

and he hopes that she can forgive him for hurting her.

and he hopes that she will find that "White Knight"

"You're gonna find someone someday who might actually treat you well There in my rear view mirror disappearin' now Now it's too late for me and my white horse To catch you now"

Even though it's too late for him.

I love this song because it's soo true. I wish it was on itunes.

I think the lyrics are kinda weird. It just doesn't sound as right as "I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairytale." And when he says, "Stupid girl, YOU should've known," it kinda just sounds mean.

But other than that he's preetttttttty much fantastic

This version I think is way better than Taylor's, she's good and all, but I feel Stephen has more emotion.

I can listen to this song on repeat, all day.

My Opinion
Cover art for White Horse (Taylor Swift cover) lyrics by Stephen Jerzak

i don't believe this song is about him being mean..i believe he respecting her and saying that they both thought it could work and that he wouldn't do anything to hurt her and he did. and hes apologizing that he hurt her. i think that when he says..

"And there I am on my knees Beggin' for forgiveness Beggin' you please Just like I always wanted but I'm so sorry"

he is saying that he wants to get on his knees and all that..But he cant do it. and these are the reasons..

'Cause you're not my princess This ain't a fairytale You're gonna find someone someday who might actually treat you well This is a big world That was a small town There in my rear view mirror disappearin' now Now it's too late for me and my white horse Now it's too late for me and my white horse To catch you now"

..just my opinion..any other ideas?
