Veronica Sawyer Lyrics

Looking out my window
Nothing to do but to drive in circles
Well I don't want to have to go home tonight

Up and down the boulevard
How did I survive in suburbia
When there's nothing to do
And they take away what I love to do the most yeah

Friday night you're not gonna get it
Saturday you try to give me one more
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

I head back to my backyard
I know life's rough but sometimes it's really hard
To do what I love to do the most yeah

Now I'm stuck I'm back in the loop again
I'm not gonna lose and I know I'm never gonna win
Sometimes life is just that way
We all say

Friday night you're not gonna get it
Saturday you try to give me one more
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

Friday night you're not gonna get it
Saturday you try to give me one more
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

And now the weekend comes and I try to get inside
But the guy at the door tells me that I'm denied

Friday night you're not gonna get it
Saturday you try to give me one more
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

Friday night
Saturday
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

Friday night
Saturday
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

Friday night you're not gonna get it
Saturday you try to give me one more
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

You try to give me one more
You try to give me one more

Friday night
Saturday
Sunday morning just waiting for the
Afternoon so I can be a kid again

Cover art for Veronica Sawyer lyrics by Reel Big Fish

OMG! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG! okay, reel big fish is a pretty happy band so there's no surprise that this is a crazy happy song. the lyrics remind me of the movie "revolutionary Road" where the couple struggles with the conception of society and the traditional 9-5 hour workday. they really just want to live their dreams and regain their youth, like this song. the lyrics are basically about having fun with your life and still being a kid at heart, because, face it, being an adult sucks! i would know, I'm a 14 year old! hahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

and i still have more brains than some people because I can understand a meaning of a reel big fish song!

PEACE OUT!

This is a cover of an Edna's Goldfish song (at least, Edna's Goldfish recorded it in 1999, so i'm guessing it's theirs). I knew it sounded familiar when i first heard RBF do it but it took me months to figure out why. Finally, the older version popped up on my mp3 player's random and clued me in.

Yeah, i'm slow sometimes.
