"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
Bitch
High and mighty, she a diva
Put her on a ski lift she a skeezer
Chasing cheese faster than a chasing cheetah
You could be a lot of things but you should be satisfied you a bitch
Clap ass, work poll, thighs on swole
But you should be satisfied you a bitch
Not a slut, not a hoe, attitude outta control but you should be satisfied you a bitch
She might sass put a lame on blast
Got a lot of game, put the blame on her past
High class, whole lotta ass
All about her cash, you ain't even gotta ask
Might dash in and outta town for
My stash and she know I'm hung low
Took it to the top and we started from the ground floor
Real bitches stand up and tell me what you down for
Them other hoes green, so they so steamed
You're never gonna win playing for the wrong team
Every nigga wanna grab it but, but the bitch stay mean
And you can't call her ratchet cause the pussy stay clean
I lick my lips
She thick like grits
I'm all in cuz she flip my chips, to make me rich
I ain't saying that I lover her but I dig my bitch
Clap ass, work poll, thighs on swole
But you should be satisfied you a bitch
Yeah, Yeah
Not a slut, not a hoe, attitude outta control but you should be satisfied you a bitch
Ms sadity, flow through the city
Got a pretty face but her attitude shitty
Brand new titties & shots in her ass
Only thing she ain't shop for was the class
Talk fast ain't never say nothing
Work hard that clock she punching
That job I swear she suck at
Like a bus pass, fucked up mustache
You should bleach that, where you peeps at
Who the fuck let you let you on the street like that
You Mustang bucking like a Bronco
Body like a Benz with brain like a Pinto
I'm the shit tho, here's the info
We can make a quick call to your kinfolk
You can choose up, I mean move up
Think fast hoe, you don't wanna lose us
Bitch
Clap ass, work poll, thighs on swole
But you should be satisfied you a bitch
Not a slut, not a hoe, attitude outta control but you should be satisfied you a bitch
All up in the middle, Massengill
I be in the party, looking for ass to kill
Shrek cause I'm always wit the donkey booty
They drink candy, housewife beauty
Elastic in the panties don't stand a chance
Bootylicious, I get an appetite every time she dance
Drop it and roll it like a bowling ball
Strike
Beat it like a bat what they call that

What you think about a little menage a toise, blazee, qwuaze
Blow up like a Maserati on the Vegas strip
She's your lady, but she's ma bitch
And I'm that dude, but my name ain't Devin
I be all on Youtube like I'm news at eleven
B O X say ma name

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
Firstly this is one of the best songs on the album and has a lot of god dang plays. Now I think I read somewhere that Dessa has a Philosophy degree or something along those lines... I'm studying Philosophy and I think that the lines "They say that Gods on the right/ so goes the rhetoric/ But I think that cross is a kite/ that left a skeleton/ And I think that Russel was right/ but thats irrelevant friend/ For all I know therell be nothing left to defend tomorrow/ " are about this guy Bertrand Russell. From what I know, Russell basically denied everything and strongly believed that Religion is actually just superstition and despite the fact that it has some good points causes more harm. Iuno what it means in this context really but it looks like it's just some sort of nihilistic outlook on life.
*good points, it causes more harm

woops!
Yeah, I love Dessa's verse on this. The whole song is basically about too much greed, the displacement of local business by large corporate conglomerates, how that is destroying good things, etc. This is how I would interpret it the part you are referencing:

"It's the Flight of the Salesman, Death of the Bumble Bee, Nothing left but the Attorneys and Tumbleweeds" - 1st, of course, it is a great pun on the play "Death of a Salesman" and the musical piece "Flight of the Bumble Bee", but also shorthand for corporate types running the world, leading to environmental catastrophe. Also, recently there was that strange case of bee hives dying in the news, a bit of a mystery, tying the whole line to recent actual events. The end of the line is self explanatory I suppose, that the only thing that would be left after these people have their way will the be attorneys and tumbleweeds.

"They say that God's on the Right, so goes the rhetoric" - Basically that conservatives claim that God favors the way of life they would espouse, that their values are Godly values.

"But I think that cross is a kite, that left a skeleton" - Not sure, but maybe something along the lines of "Maybe the concept of Christ used to mean something, but now it is just a shell of an idea that is used to support current thinking, and changes depending on which way the wind blows." The bare bones of the Christ idea left like a kite to blow in the wind, not standing for any one solid thing.

"And I think that Russell was right, but that's irrelevant friend" - Bertrand Russell created the term "Agnostic". Agnosticism basically rejects superstition, and on the question of God they believe we do not have sufficient evidence, and further, that it is impossible to every acquire evidence to prove/disprove the God hypothesis. And when she says "but that's irrelevant friend", I think she is saying that while she is an agnostic and doubts the concept of the Christian God, that is irrelevant, because the concept of that God still exists strongly in our culture and must be engaged with if you want to deal with how people think.

Seriously, I'm impressed by all that she packs into that verse. It sort of seems so lame to interpret it, because that ruins the poetic coolness of it.
