Prom Queen Lyrics
I love the fancy underwear
I sit behind her every year
Waitin' for the chance to get
To tell her I'm the one she should be with ouw!
Shes popular with all the guys
So innocent in my eye
I could see her in my life
she would’ve had the perfect sweetman
But see she had other plans
I could not understand
Her and her stupid friends
Varsity’s biggest fans
Never forget the day
She laughed and walked away
And I couldnt stop her
I guess she had it all
She had it all figured out
But she left me with a broken heart
Fucked around and turned me down
Cause she didn’t think I could play the part
But now the prom queen, the prom queen
is crying sittin outside of my door
She never know how
How everything could turn around
They loved her fancy underwear
Every boyfriend every year
She tried to keep ‘em entertained
When they can hardly remember her name
She did everything she could just to
To make him love and treat her good
She found herself alone
askin' herself where did she go wrong
She didn’t realize
She chased the type of guys
That don’t believe in ties
Tryin to apologize
Never forget the day
She laughed and walked away
And I couldn’t stop her
I guess she had it all
Chorus
She had it all figured out
But she left me with a broken heart
Fucked around and turned me down
Cause she didn’t think I could play the part
But now the prom queen, the prom queen
is crying sittin outside of my door
She never know how
How everything could turn around
Get up!
She had it all figured out
But she left me with a broken heart
Fucked around and turned me down

Please think critically. It sounds like this on purpose people. I foyu put a regular rocker on the chorus then it becomes more and more like eerything else. Lil' Wayne is trying to do something completely different, just like Andre 3k.And no he did not copy someone's song, it just happens to be the same. Be logicl and think about how many songs have the exact same meaning. THeres thousands people. But also they are completely different. This really is genius becasue the things he does are deliberate they are not trying to copy something else and failing, its on purpose and it also makes for an amazing song from one of the only superstars who dares to be different. Not "different" in how everyone wants to be, but different as in no one has truely done this.
Yes I agree with you on that. Good post!

I cant believe you just compared lil wayne to Andre 3000... what they are doing is by no means similar. Lil Wayne is tryna bite other rappers ish e.g. Limp Biskit... problem here is that MTV got that wayne biatch's back so he is probably gonna win a grammy for this shit or something like that then your rock purists will really get pissed...

Totally suprised there isnt more comments on this soong!
I dont care what anyone says but this song is really good.
Its just nobodys used to Lil Wayne's new shittt.
Keeeeep Rockin'!
Everyone on itunes commented on how this is way worse than lil' wayne's previous songs. Almost all of his songs were about sex, but this one is about a girl who turned lil' wayne down! Also I love the mix of rock and hip-hop, its really catchy. But above all, like i said this song is just different and in a really good way. He's singing about a situation that is more realistic and talking about a woman in a more respectful way... I say props to lil wayne ;)

i think this song has potential, if he were to recall it and have someone who can sing rock music sing the chorus, like kevin rudolf..
i honestly don't pay any mind to what anyone says about this song. i think it's fantastic and totally unlike lil wayne. it tells a lot about an artist when they can do more than what everyone expects. regardless of how common the situation in the song is, it gives us an entirely different view of lil wayne. he's putting his pure infatuation and adoration out there for us to hear. & on top of it, there's pain and confusion and desperation. all things he never leads off.
it's new. i'm looking forward to the album.
I don't care what anybody has to say, this song is amazing. I've always loved Lil' Wayne, but this song brought it to a whole new level. He's very talented, and I actually think anybody else on this track would just ruin it. He takes it and makes it his own. Totally agree with laurennx, 100%.
This is an amazing song, if you ask me. It shows another side of Lil' Wayne. I think it means that he liked this girl; but she was popular, and didn't want to take a chance with an "unpopular" boy. It just shows that people only usually judge from the outside. I'm so glad Lil' Wayne opened his mind; and figured out what he can do..
i really like the guitar riff in this song. and even if the situation is typical, the lyrical content is still pretty darn good.
i enjoy what he is doing, i didn't like him, but now i do.
this is the best song of his no matter what anyone says mostly casue its my type of like a rock feel to it and that its about how cliche storys of dork gets shut down by the popular the popular gets screwed over at prom to when shes 25 and while that happens the dork slowly rises to fame. and the popular b*tch wants him now. you kno the rest of the story it has a meaningto it other than sex, and its cool how he incoprating his gutiar skills into the music-idk if he has b4 lol but still
Good lyrics, but his voice just messes it all up. It's pretty straight forward, a popular girl turning him down and now she's sorry for that.
