Aeon

i made an account just to comment on how beautiful this song is.

i think it has something to do with his father dying... as pure speculation, i see it as a mix of his father addressing him, saying that eternity will take care of him, and a son giving him over to eternity and death. (i listen to the song as addressing the baby boy, not calling the baby boy "aeon," though i don't know if that's decideable....)

and, the real reason i love the song, is the way he yells that "SO MUCH." can't help but tear up a bit, you know?

while i'm at it, it really feels to me like a father/son back and forth, and thinking of it that way makes it really poignant to me. because the father, at death, says that eternity will repair him, but at the end (on the album version anyways) antony sings "oh no, we don't know nothin daddy but this world", a sort of really sad opposite viewpoint on death and eternity.

I think the dead one is his son. "Oh aeon was never born" His son dies young, and no one will take care of him.

I have no idea what Antony intended the song to mean, but what I get out of it is that he is claiming his own faith, or religion for lack of a better way to say it; that no pre-established faith has any meaning or accurate worth any longer, so he has created his "Creator," simultaneously the one responsible for his existence while he is responsible for their existence: One he refers to as "Aeon." Lines like "Aeon was never born" lead me to think this, as in Aeon had no birth because Aeon had no beginning but is eternal. Either way what I get out of it is something deeply, deeply spiritual. "Let's take our power back, let's do something differently, it doesn't have to be this way," like he's crying out to his true spirit guide that he can be a believer in something greater by claiming a belief greater than one that perhaps was regurgitated to him from a very young age or even the womb. Perhaps Aeon is his God; his Everything. That's what I get.out of it ????????????????
