Q&A
The Air Lyrics
The air is unbearably hard for the night
Take me away from these old city lights
And I would be better off
With your lovely limbs just wrapped around me tonight
This love is unbearably hard for the night
Should we call it quits
And end it for the night
Would we be better off with someone else just wrapped around us tonight
Take me away from these old city lights
And I would be better off
With your lovely limbs just wrapped around me tonight
Should we call it quits
And end it for the night
Would we be better off with someone else just wrapped around us tonight

I'm pretty sure "hard for the night" should be "harmful tonight" in the first line of both verses.
Definitely "harmful tonight."
Definitely "harmful tonight."
As for the meaning, I'd guess that it starts out being about the person in the song wanting to escape the big city to their lover who is elsewhere. Although, this first verse may be meant to be more figurative, as in escaping the normal routine to someone better. Either way, it ends with the person in the song suggesting they end what's going off. Taking the latter interpretation of the first verse, this song would be about the course of a fleeting relationship.
