Never heard this song before. He seems to question why he did not see this coming. He was so wrapped up in other things and then felt regret. He feels he wasted his time but he really wants to understand how it never was more in the end. He is angry he did not see it and that she never said anything to warn him even if she may have he might have been in a different place in time mentally when it happened. He feels remorse that won't stop and wants to find resolve for what he did. He should just let it go and talk about it even if she won't listen maybe write it down so he can work it out within himself.
