My life is brilliant

My life is brilliant
My love is pure
I saw an angel
Of that I'm sure
She smiled at me on the subway
She was with another man
But I won't lose no sleep on that
'Cause I've got a plan

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're beautiful, it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
'Cause I'll never be with you

Yes, she caught my eye
As we walked on by
She could see from my face that I was
Fucking high
And I don't think that I'll see her again
But we shared a moment that will last 'til the end

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're beautiful, it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
'Cause I'll never be with you

La, la-la, la-la
La, la-la, la-la
La, la-la, la-la, la

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're beautiful, it's true
There must be an angel with a smile on her face
When she thought up that I should be with you
But it's time to face the truth
I will never be with you

This song is so good. Just kind of sad at the end when he says, "But it's time to face the truth, I will never be with you..." I think the meaning is pretty obvious.

this song refers to true, pure love-the artist has fallen in love with this girl, but knows that she is out of bounds-quite possibly leading to suicide to numb the pain of knowing he can never be with his one true love. There are references to death throughout-"we shared a moment That will last till the end"..is the moment they shared and his dream of being her all that has kept him going, but eventually becomes an obsession-consuming him? "Cause I have got a plan"..what plan?suicide?surely not one to somehow gain her love, for he admits "I'll never be with you" "There must be an angel With a smile on her face When she thought up That I should be with you".. Angels..watching over him, guiding him..she seems perfect to him,yet he cant be with her-shes with someone else, and is perhaps out of her league-she notices him when hes "fucking high"..so angels guide him to what he feels is the answer..where he can be with her someday.

I think this song is about just one moment, when you see somone in passing and you know you will never ever see them again but they have in some way touched you.

This song makes me think about a lot. Past and future..the pain someone goes through over another human being. I hate the feeling of not being able to have her...it's happened numerous times, and it just hurts more and more every time. But the song makes you realize how life is, and that a person can't achieve everything they want, so you have to tough it out, and just move on. "She can see from my face, that I was fucking high." I love this. She was so flawless....so perfect to him, that she gave him his own natural high. Wonderful Song.

it's about love at first sight. He saw the woman of his dreams and he wants to be with her, but that will be really hard because they don't know each other. It happend that to me once... so I understand how painful it is.

This song reminds me of being on the subway. You know, you notice that person in a crowd of people and you can't stop staring at them.. but they happen to be riding with their boyfriend/girlfriend. And the two of you have that connection.. where you just both KNOW you're attracted to eachother..it's all in the eye contact.

"And I don't think That I'll see her again But we shared a moment That will last till the end"

i think everyone has that one person that they can remember having a moment with.. but you'll never see them again because you don't know their name or anything

I think the meaning is that life is good, and it's beautiful but sometimes you let the little moments pass and you regret not doing anything later. "I know I'll never be with you." He will never see her again. Amazing how life crosses two people, even for a moment like on the subway. One moment can change your life.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
