Kiss My Name Lyrics
Kiss my name
Mama in the afterglow
When the grass is green with grow
And my tears have turned to snow
I’m only a child
Born upon a grave
Dancing through the stations
Calling out my name
Oh mama kiss my name
I am trying to be sane
I’m trying to kiss my friends
And when broken, make amends
Kiss my name, the curtains white
The turtle doves embroider light
As I lie, murdered in ground
The rain compacting sodden sound
Of songs I sang the years before
When it was time to rain
Upon the coal that I became
Mama in the afterglow
When the grass is green with grow
And my tears have turned to snow
Born upon a grave
Dancing through the stations
Calling out my name
I am trying to be sane
I’m trying to kiss my friends
And when broken, make amends
The turtle doves embroider light
As I lie, murdered in ground
The rain compacting sodden sound
Of songs I sang the years before
When it was time to rain
Upon the coal that I became

I think this is a very strange song. Firstly because it sounds so happy, but the lyrics tell something else. I think it's about not forgetting someone when he has died. When the grass has grown over your grave and the mourning about you has stopped. That you should say to each other: "he was a good fellow" Please tell me if you think something else
I agree with you, turtletuc. The writer has died, returned to the earth (coal that I became), and his spirit now asks to be remembered. "Kiss my name" refers to kissing the grave stone. As a spirit, physical contact with friend
This song speaks of us the human race as being part of nature and how we are all connected, so when you die you become something else (snow, coal) but still part of Earth. And that's what brings joy to the author, and that's why the song is so joyful.
