@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.

I know exactly what this song is about, because I've going through it right now with my ex. I'm in love with my current boyfriend, but for a while, I had this infatuation thing with my ex. I felt like I wanted my ex, but when I got him and he told me he was still in love with me, I suddenly didn't want it anymore. I realized all I wanted was my current boyfriend.
It's about wanting what you can't have, or desiring something that you shouldn't. You know you have no future with this person, but lust or infatuation or old memories keep you hanging on. It can also be seen as a friend wanting another friend as more than a friend. "I had to stop myself from saying something that I should have never thought of you, of you.."
