If You Feel Lyrics

If you feel like china breaking
If you feel like laughing
Break china laughing
Break china laughing, laughing, laughing

If you feel like leaves are falling
If you feel like smiling
Fall leaves are smiling
Fall leaves are smiling, smiling, smiling

If you feel like love making
If you feel like flying
Make love flying, baby
Make love flying, flying, flying

Got down
Not the first time, you know
Got down, got up to go
Got up to go

If you feel like china breaking
If you feel like laughing
Break china laughing
Break china laughing, laughing
Laughing, laughing
Laughing, laughing
Laughing
Laughing
Laughing
Laughing

Cover art for If You Feel lyrics by Jefferson Airplane

A purely hedonistic outlook on life. An observation at how serious we can take life to such an extreme that at some point, you have to let go, just let go and enjoy it for no other reason than just experiencing the pure pleasure of the moment and to laugh with Hesse's immortals at the ridiculousness of it all.

Simply: don't take things too seriously, let go like a leaf falling from a tree and enjoy it

Break China laughin'!

I don't think Marty is talking about hedonism, precisely, because hedonism implies responsibilities, a seriousl life, that one is neglecting, as I understand the term.

He's saying, just BE. In other words, Zen, not hedonism. A fine point, and one that I would never belabor.
