Babys Lyrics

summer comes to multiply, to multiply!
summer comes to multiply, to multiply!
and I...I’m the Carnival of Peace
I’ll probably start a fleet with no apologies
and the Carnival of Scenes...it grows more and more appealing
but my woman and I...my woman and I know what we’re for
summer comes to multiply, to multiply!
summer comes to multiply, to multiply!

The beginning of this song is the opening of "Music for 18 Musicians" by Steve Reich! Go ahead, listen to them side by side.

Thank you! I thought it sounded like Reich.

Something interesting to point out. There is a lot of cacophony chords in the beginning as everyone stated, not that I dislike them, but I think that there is a reason why they all stop and everything calms down once he gets to the line I'm the Carnival of Peace. Everything becomes peaceful at that line. Just something interesting I noticed.

Yeah, this song (like the whole EP) is pretty easy to understand, this one is about the urge to "make babies"

My Interpretation

the first time I listened to it the beginning annoyed me slightly, but not I absolutely adore it.

The "but my woman and i..." implies that he feels differently than what he's stating. summer comes a time when everyone is careless and will do careless things. he knows that his woman and him know better.

i disagree. i think he's just saying that he and his woman believe that they are for procreating. that humanity at its most basic is about producing more humanity.

It's about how the life of travelling and exploring the world is becoming more appealing ''and the Carnival of Scenes... it grows more and more appealing''

But he and his woman know what they're for and are going to settle down and create a family ''but my woman and I... my woman and I know what we're for''

This is further strengthened by the line ''I'll probably start a fleet, with no apologies'' - the fleet representing a family.
