I Song Lyrics
She walks in the room
In her mind, she's far away
I can see her emptiness, but I just don't feel her pain
The love is gone
The only thing that she was living for
Mr. I'll never leave you walked right out the door (oh!)
It's killing me inside
The way I seen her change
She writes her life story
But she can't turn the page
I hold her hand
Try to take her
But she pulls away
Shades go down
Lights go out
There's nothing left to say
So, I'm singing
I
Wanted all but I take just a little
I
I feel a touch that I need someone
I
Just to try and relieve the pain
But a voice inside reminds me there must be a better way (oh!)
And so I leave the room
About halfway down the hall
I turn around, she screams out What? You don't believe in love?
Said I'll never be who I was when I was 17
'Cause every time I walk away, I leave a piece of me, so I'm singing
I
Wanted all but I take just a little
I
Feel the touch that I need someone
I
Just to try and relieve the pain
But a voice inside reminds me there must be a better way (oh!)
And now I understand what they were trying to say
Life goes by too fast and people change
She just wants to be who she always was
But you can't change a single thing
You might as well look up and sing
I
I take just a little
I
Then I need someone
We get high
To relieve the pain
But there's a voice inside me saying
You better walk -- You better walk away
I
And I take just a little
I
To relieve the pain
We get high
Some things never change
But a voice inside reminds me there must be -- be a better way
In her mind, she's far away
I can see her emptiness, but I just don't feel her pain

Lyrics just a little bit incorrect "I feel a touch that I need someone" change to some more
"Then I need someone" change to some more
A couple corrections: Chorus #1/2 'I Want it all, but I take just a little I Feel the touch, that I need more We get high To relieve the pain, But a voice inside reminds me there much be a better way (Oh!)'
Chorus #3 'I I take just a little I I take some more 'n we get high some things never change but a voice inside reminds me there must be-be a better way'
At first I thought it was just a song about stoners, but now that I really look back at the lyrics I think it's about someone diving into drugs and getting stuck and sinking deeper. And even though he knows it's 'wrong', he takes more than 'just a little'.
I almost forgot to add: I also think it's a bit about a girl... maybe they disagree about whether they're in love or not, they end it, and he dives right in?
