À L'orée des Bois Lyrics

We carried up a 24, we brought it to the third floor, it was like lifting a bull
Close the windows looking out over Parc Avenue
'Cause we don't need no soccer fans getting on the record

And the heat in here is something fierce and I swear it's making us see double
We woke up today and I thought I was yesterday
Summer months keep rolling by and we'd like to try to finish it by wintertime
What once was a monster is now a friend of mine

'Cause we want to make this life into a living
Oh my, The Woodman's on the phone and Nic is up on the calendar
Saint-Jean-Baptiste is gonna eat us all alive

awesome song! the lyrics are kind of strange... random. but i think that makes the song even better! i love the little french boy at the end hahaha.

Recording in the heat drives them a little crazy, they want to finish the album by wintertime...

"we want to make this life into a living" turn their passion/ambition into a career by finally laying down and album, going out on tour, living the dream.

"The Woodman" is the nickname of Matt Woodley, the drummer. I think the correct line would be "Nic is up on...

Thanks, "knickers up on the calendar" didn't make any sense but I couldn't think of anything better. Saint-Jean-Baptiste is a neighbourhood in Quebec City, maybe where they recorded the album?

Saint-Jean-Baptiste is actually the National Holiday for the province of Québec. It's on June 24th and it's a very expected party and in Montreal, the party takes place in the Parc Jean-Drapeau, surrounded by trees.

The little boy sings the title of the song "À l'orée des bois", which could mean something like "At the edge of the trees"

So, the 24 might be a 24 pack of beers, the heat of summer fits with the event of Saint-Jean-Baptiste and the title could show the excitment of the boys for this great party, where, even...
