Lisa Lyrics
verse 1:
Man you had me fooled
What I thought was sweet,
was sorrow now
You can see
all them words
those thoughts that you'd be
but I'm
chorus:
What you have
Is a problem, no
and you won't change me
'cause I'd never go
No I'd never, no.
verse 2:
Chocolate covered sheets
moments thought without
red meat I
was once your plate
well now
I know I can't be saved by all
chorus:
You and I
won't have to go
and all my dreams
are a part of you now
they're a part of you now
(end chorus)
Please, won't you go
and set me down
I'm not sure
what goes 'round
what goes 'round
Yeah!
Man you had me fooled
What I thought was sweet,
was sorrow now
You can see
all them words
those thoughts that you'd be
but I'm
What you have
Is a problem, no
and you won't change me
'cause I'd never go
No I'd never, no.
Chocolate covered sheets
moments thought without
red meat I
was once your plate
well now
I know I can't be saved by all
You and I
won't have to go
and all my dreams
are a part of you now
they're a part of you now
Please, won't you go
and set me down
I'm not sure
what goes 'round
what goes 'round
Yeah!

can't believe no one's commented yet. fucking lovely song. sounds sort of like a drum machine. and the string arrangements? beautiful. i'm not entirely sure these lyrics are correct, though. it sounds to me like, "what i thought was me, was sorrow now."
and hell if i know what it's about. the lyrics are too vague to really pinpoint a meaning. although the title and the implication of sorrow and "chocolate covered sheets" seem to imply some sort of relationship thing. go figure.
THANK YOU! I got it: That line you mention I think is: what I thought was sweet, is sorrow now. Problem with these lyrics are two: 1. There is not one official post about it from AHJ, and it's really hard to get exactly what Albert sings. It's kinda like Julian singing, where sometimes it gets hard to understand by ear. Now, I wonder, if we put these lyrics together as a prose, whould it be correct gramatically speaking? "I know I can't be saved by all." wouldn't it be saved at all? "won't you go and set me down" what's set me down? "moments...

"won't you go and set me down" what's set me down? "moments thought without red meat" what's that supposed to mean? I've been asking Albert to publish the official lyrics for two weeks and he doesn't seem to read my twits or he just won't care about it. Maybe because it hurts him what this song means, I don't know, the thing is I don't get any response from him.
Of course it's about a relationship -- he wrote it about ex-girlfriend Lisa Sieffert judging by the title and the fact they broke up right around the time of this album.
