Deadache Lyrics

She's over by my place as decoration
I preserved her face for inspiration

Flashlights from authorities
Lanterns brighten up the scene
Familiar faces of the long dead

The mad butcher goes bump in the night
And loneliness
It makes nights endless

The farm bathes in the thumping moonlight
It incubates my grief and madness

And sometimes
That's when I get a deadached

I can't feel myself I'm sinking deeper
Mother's not really gone, I'm dressing in her

Dusty musty shrine to ma
Board the door so she'll keep long
There's no way that she'll be leaving me

Sometimes - I get a deadache yeah
Sometimes - I get a deadache yeah
Sometimes

In November I lost my family
They took away all my friends and blamed insanity

Cover art for Deadache lyrics by Lordi

Mr Lordi said in an interview that " Deadached " is a type of slang for being tired. I think this song refers to Lordi after winning the Eurovision, with all the Cameras in their face.

"Flashlights from authorities Lanterns brighten up the scene Familiar faces of the long dead"

This says to me. Flashlights, being the cameras. Authority's being the paparazzi. Laterns brighten up the scene. Again cameras. And as for the long dead i feel that, People who wanted nothing to do with Lordi for whatever reason are now starting to notice them.

I think that's correct, but it's also about the Ed Gein. At least, to me.

The song is about the famous murderer and body snatcher Ed Gein. After his mother's death he dug up graves and collected body parts to recreate her appearance. He began to create a "woman suit" so that "he could become his mother—to literally crawl into her skin".

"She's over by my place as decoration I preserved her face for inspiration"

" Mother's not really gone I'm dressing in her Dusty musty shrine to ma Board the door so she'll keep long There's no way that she'll be leaving me"

"Familiar faces of the long dead" - he used to exhume freshly buried bodies of women which resembled his mother.

Ed was known as "Butcher of Plainfield". "The mad butcher goes bump in the night"

When authorities arrested him and searched his farm they found many human body parts: "Flashlights from authorities Lanterns brighten up the scene"

"The farm bathes in the thumping moonlight It incubates my grief and madness"

"Deadache" is a word-play of the words "dead" and "headache" describing Ed's mental condition.
