Just gonna go for the "god's twisted game" bit. They thank god in the booklet for OHPS, and with the atheistic themes in TAOM, I think they're just slighting at how god is sometimes there for you, and sometimes not, depending on what you believe during those sometimes. You can't ever truly be sure of his existence, but you can never know that he doesn't exist either. I think the "What you see and what you believe are never gonna be the same" line from somewhere in TAOM, i forget where, could find some help in understanding here.

Not sure I was clear about the first part. I don't know their religious background, but it seems from album to album their opinion shifts. That was the idea I meant to imply at the beginning. My apologies.

I really liked Braddeurbeck's interpretation, the way I also interpreted the song was more like a song directed at somebody that has a problem of some sort or other that needs to reevaluate his/her life, etc. Now or never, take the hand of the person trying to help you, and so on.

This is the way I think it goes.

The way we are going about things, Politics, religion, a monetary system (money), is not getting us anywhere. When does this book get good? We are not happy as a species and we are so blind to what is comfortable that we don't even understand that money, "God", or oppression is needed or even human nature.

the whole 5-4-3-2-1 part is about our control over ourselves. Numbers and letters signifying your being, social security numbers, signatures, etc. Time is also man made. It is mans counting of the earth revolving around our sun. Even though these are placed on you from birth, and EVERYONE conforms, it is not required to live, survive, or even do great things.

the rest of it is a lot of things, but mostly it sounds like they are calling for the change they know is inevitable. It is going to happen, nothing last forever, especially forms of government or control. we need to be smart. Money, religion, politics, has never done anything for us truly. Technology and man power has. We need to go forward and get away from being judgmental and oppressive. There are no social classes, no high, low, or middle class. We are all equal and if given the proper education, motivation, and positive reinforcement, we will ALL do great. This isn't communism, communism is a form of government. This is proper natural resource management and complete equality and love from and for all man.

As far as meaning goes, This song is definitely out there.

I suppose it's reviewing one's life as a story; "When does it get good, at the end of life or at the start of 'ever-after' - Love? "god's twisted game of hide and seek" really confuses me however. teaching that "A picture is worth a thousand words" is nothing more than hide and seek, that we have to find the words?

That's a clear reference to music, but with all the talk about "coming out", I'm taking that as in just confessing anything and everything, so maybe it's music rather than books that get to true feelings, but then why would they lie, or is it as of laying down?

We tried to find the meaning of these preschool phrases and sayings, but it's been hiding from us forever. Leave it behind?
