When Did This Storm Begin? (feat. Binary Finary) Lyrics
I hate you!
(I can't really make out what they're saying, but I think it's a car accident over the radio or something; i'll fill this in later)
Call my name
Answer me where I stand
Here's a story of the way I wasn't meant to be raised,
bright yellow sun that fades away to black and blue every place
There's a bottle in the shape of your love for me
(Now the clouds are racing higher, blinding arrows away. There's in darkness off the streets that my elec-tricity.)
Gold(God?) shatters the sky, this is the first day of the rest of our lives, cuz no one really lives or dies.
Call my name
(When did this storm begin?)
Answer me where I stand.
Call my name
(When will this story end?)
Answer me where I stand.
Every night you drink the money left to pay all the bills.
No room for us, but there's another fucking bottle of pills.
Here's your trophy on my face, it's just an eye anyway..
(Now the clouds are racing higher, blinding arrows away. There's in darkness off the streets that my elec-tricity.)
This will go no further, I swear it dies today.
Your nights will stay forever if you dare once more touch me.
Call my name
(When did this storm begin?)
Answer me where I stand.
Call my name
(When will this story end?)
Answer me where I stand.
Where I stand...
(a girl cries)
Call my name
(When did this storm begin?)
Answer me where I stand.
Call my name
(When will this story end?)
Answer me where I stand.
(laughter and school bells, and morphs into Money For That.)
Answer me where I stand
bright yellow sun that fades away to black and blue every place
There's a bottle in the shape of your love for me
Gold(God?) shatters the sky, this is the first day of the rest of our lives, cuz no one really lives or dies.

Deep is right. I think it's about abuse.. whether it be a bf/gf or parents... and the abused person is trying to overcome it.. the storm symbolizing the energy and power behind it all.
It sounds like he's saying there is a severe thunderstorm 6 miles N of Weatherford moving Southeast at 33 miles to Dallas
..this song is fucking deeeep. i love it.
The voice at the beginning sounds like a computer generated voice from the National Weather Service, the kind you hear during a weather alert (for an approaching storm).
It is a weather alert message, doormat. If you listen closely.
Brilliant song. It's left ambiguous as to which drugs are involved, and whether or not there's an incestuous aspect to the physical abuse (which would REALLY suck), but it's not a happy picture of childhood no matter how you slice it.
It is, however, a cathartic statement of personal defiance and strength. You don't have to have lived it to feel it, and it doesn't hurt that it sounds amazing.
The beginning weather alert says....
"Im in a (TP??) on central building static national weather service, stop, the radar it, it..it appears thunderstorms, 6 miles south of (wetherkerky?) - moving from east at 33mph"
This will go no further, I swear it. (I cit-ay?)
It's;
This will go no further, I swear it dies today.
I hate you!

this is definitely the story of an abusive/horrible childhood. "Here's a story of the way I wasn't mean to be raised."
obviously, she was physically abused. black and blue is usually a reference to bruises. "Bright yellow sun that fades away to black and blue every place."
most likely she is speaking of an alcoholic father. that's where the bottle comes into play.. "There's a bottle in the shape of your love for me."
you hear glass breaking just before this line.. in my mind it's symbolizing a broken bottle and more abuse. "Cold shatters the sky."
then, she speaks of how she feels neither dead nor alive. which many who are or have been abused (either physically or mentally, really) can relate to. "This is the first day of the rest of our lives, because no one truly lives or dies ..."
then she speaks of how he can somehow find the money to buy more alcohol, yet he can barely pay the bills to keep his family alive. "Every night you drink the money left to pay all the bills"
again, he would rather spend the little money he has on pills than on food for his family. "No food for us but there's another fucking bottle of pills"
the trophy on her face is probably a black eyes. hence her saying that "its just an eye anyway." "Here's your trophy on my face its just an eye anyway .."
finally she has had enough. she is probably older by the time she is saying this, however, she will never forget the damage he inflicted upon her and will not stand to be abused any longer. "This will go no further. I swear it dies today. Your nights will stay forever. If you dare once more touch me.."
it's a very sad song. however it is also extremely powerful and i honestly think it is beautiful.
