The Prom Queen Has No Friends Lyrics
The morning after was the scene
It seemed like the night before was nothing more
Than a bad dream
It felt real, but I couldn't tell
And I ask myself
What is the measure of a man who can't forgive?
It's left up to the weight of his words
And how he lives within...
He's small in character
And resorts in, taking it out on those who deserve a second chance
Well I could never be that way
So I'll leave the past to yesterday
And I'm left with just one question
How do we always get so close
To resolution and just give up
Suddenly, I realized what you've done
And it gets a little harder to say it
Don't let your habits take control
Because eventually they take their toll
But you have to understand
You can't just swing where you choose
Not everyone is willing to forgive you
Please get a hold of yourself before I have to
Walk away for good
(walk away for good)
How do we always gets so close
To resolution and just give up
Suddenly, I realized what you've done
And it's get's a little harder to say it
Don't let your habits take control
Because eventually they take their toll
The habit was the gun
The influence the trigger
And the bullet was your tongue
The habit was the gun
The influence the trigger
And the bullet was your tongue
The bullet was your tongue
(But I didn't buckle from the pain)
The habit was the gun
The influence the trigger
And the bullet was your tongue
The bullet was your tongue
(But I didn't buckle from the pain)
You can't live your life in a coma
Not expecting to wake up one day
In the coffin you built with your bare hands
And think you can just walk away
(And walk away)
You can't live your life in a coma
Not expecting to wake up one day
In the coffin you built with your bare hands
And think you can just walk away
(And walk away)
I've been over this a thousand times before
And still you are in the wrong
If you keep this up, I won't be around for long
It seemed like the night before was nothing more

SONOFABITCH. Every damn song on this sight that I love, people post some annoying theory about drugs. You have watched too much TV, some bands are just talented, and write about legitimate things, such as sober feelings. Look at the title; "The Prom Queen Has No Friends"
Why does it have to be about drugs for this? Couldn't it be about a popular girl with a seemingly vast number of friends, but all of them are fake and she treats them badly, hence the habit? So she has no friends when real life, the time when it actually matters, starts. I dunno if this is what the song is about, but FUCK I am so tired of people making everything about drugs.
well mayb they are comparing it to their lives ;)

How are there no comments?! This song rules! I fuxxing love it! :D
definately theyre best song! second comment? :P
first song i heard from Broadway! <3 this song never gets old, i love itttt! ;)
This song is really their best as a band: it shows off the vox, some sick guitar riffs& that nice southern metal influence shows through, they also get to show off their synth! Best song for the screams in my opinion. All around sickk
To me, this song speaks about drugs, and the influence and disasters they have on people around them.
The habit was the gun the habit was the thing that would cause all this harm
The influence the trigger the influences of people around them was the tipping point that would set this gun off
And the bullet was your tongue I believe that the bullet refers to the damage it causes to the people around them. ( I didnt buckle from the pain) shows that they just shook it off, didnt take it to personally
I've been over this a thousand times before And still you are in the wrong If you keep this up, I won't be around for long
This bit says to me that they have tried so hard to help these people out, but they wont listen and keep doing the harm to themselves, so they have no choice but to leave them and this pain behind

Great song!
The singer is talking to the prom queen.
"How do we always get so close To resolution and just give up Suddenly, I realized what you've done And it gets a little harder to say it Don't let your habits take control Because eventually they take their toll"
He is telling her to be sure that her habits (most likely not forgiving and being unkind in general) don't take control because eventually they will have a bad effect. Hence the title "Prom Queen Has No Friends." She will lose friends.
"But you have to understand You can't just swing where you choose Not everyone is willing to forgive you"
If she keeps saying whatever she wants to people and hurting them she has to realize that not everyone is going to forgive her.
From here on is my favorite part of the song..
"The habit was the gun The influence the trigger And the bullet was your tongue (But I didn't buckle from the pain)"
Her habit (hurting people) was the gun The influence: I'm not sure for sure what this is but it is the cause. Most likely something that happened to her influenced her and in a sense pulled the trigger. The bullet: Her saying hurtful things.
Still he doesn't buckle from the pain of getting shot by her words.
"You can't live your life in a coma Not expecting to wake up one day In the coffin you built with your bare hands And think you can just walk away (And walk away)"
I think this is the most confusing part of the song. I understand the part where she is in a coffin because if she continues to hurt people she will in a sense be dead. I guess she is in a coma because she is hardly living as a result of having no friends because of the way she treats people.
"I've been over this a thousand times before And still you are in the wrong If you keep this up, I won't be around for long"
He's seen this problem before and he tells her that she's still wrong in her actions and that if it continues he will leave.
Awesome song!!
