since they're a Christian band, i see the meaning as one relating to that. In scriptures it's written that we must be the light to this dark world and the salt of the earth. alone we cannot accomplish that, but with God's help, we can do so much to change the world we live in. "Dark fears, these shadowed accursed will flee before Your sweeping arm" God's love will rid us of our fears. our words are like a weapon, with the power to heal or hurt, we must do what we know is right, and remind ourselves that Jesus will come to Earth again, so we must warn the sinners that if they don't repent, they'll be damned, if they don't listen, too bad for them, if they listen, then we've helped save a life. :)
