To Die Like Mouchette Lyrics
Kick start your heart
Just like an engine
Battered and overused
Are we really ready?
I don't think it's any use
If you think it feels close to you
Hey angel, there's nothing left to loose
Please, believe in what I have to say
The symptoms that you have are so lost
You're wires are crossed, are you leaving?
If you think it feels close to you
Hey angel, it's hardly a worn excuse
Please, believe in what I have to say
The symptoms that you have are so lost
You're wires are crossed are you leaving?
Just leave and never analyze the way
You didnt't like the look
Of his eyes or of his smile
You have to leave it and run away
Just like an engine
Battered and overused
Are we really ready?
I don't think it's any use
Hey angel, there's nothing left to loose
The symptoms that you have are so lost
You're wires are crossed, are you leaving?
Hey angel, it's hardly a worn excuse
The symptoms that you have are so lost
You're wires are crossed are you leaving?
Just leave and never analyze the way
You didnt't like the look
Of his eyes or of his smile
You have to leave it and run away

Judging by the title this one's probably about the film 'Mouchette'.

I guess the lyrics are probably relevant to the movie in some way, they certainly have a tragic sort of feel to them.
This is from an interview with rocksound and matt:
Tell us about the interestingly titled 'To Die Like Mouchette' ''Mouchette is a French film from the 60s. I studied film in university before the band kicked off and I've always been interested in different cinema. When we were writing the record, Sky was showing ‘Mouchette’. It’s about a girl who had a lot of family trauma. She has to be the main responsible person in the family and look after her disabled brother, all that burden is thrown on her shoulders. She’s just a girl and she’s forced to grow up right there and then and take on those responsibilities. It ends quite tragically - she gets raped by a screwed up guy and dies accidentally. It’s not a song about that film but it made me think about the way that innocence can be really flipped and taken away quite quickly from people.''
guess you were right a bit :]
Well that puzzle's solved. :) This song is the best on the album.
These lyrics are actually missing a verse near the beginning:
Discarded on the floor We feel the pain, nestled and over-shores. If you tell your truths to me, so sorry to let it go If you think it feels close to you Hey angel, it's only one excuse
