Eyesore Lyrics
The ugly naked truth
She starves me of my youth
And I stand alone
Until you catch on
I swear it’s not by choice
But Ana has this voice
And it calms me down
It gives me purpose
And it’s alright, I’m alright
I want to be ok
I’ve seen it before, this eyesore
It’s me, oh me
I want out from under this confining skin
That I so reluctantly live in
My worth is measured solely according to the scale
I am heavy, I feel frail
And it’s alright, I’m alright
I want to be okay
I’ve seen it before this eyesore
It’s me, oh...
Me, oh...
She starves me of my youth
And I stand alone
Until you catch on
But Ana has this voice
And it calms me down
It gives me purpose
I want to be ok
I’ve seen it before, this eyesore
It’s me, oh me
That I so reluctantly live in
My worth is measured solely according to the scale
I am heavy, I feel frail
I want to be okay
I’ve seen it before this eyesore
It’s me, oh...

Anorexia?
@killstar: Yes.
It's obviously about Anorexia and how she feels about having it. (yes she had an eating disorder)
It's about maria's battle with anorexia. It describes what she feels and what she sees with her illness.
These lyrics are full of mistakes. It's not "It's calls me down", but "it calms me down". It's not " I will not be hurt by this confining skin", but "I want out from under this confining skin". It's not "My worth is measured sourly according to the scale I get heavy, I feel frale" but: "My worth is measured solely according to the scale I am heavy, I feel frail. "
I might have missed some mistakes, there are so many of them.
And yes, of course, this song is about her battle with anorexia. Pretty damn obvious. What I love about it is that she manages to sing about something so dark, devastating, ugly and to some degree taboo in such a beautiful and non-complaining way. No clichés, no boo hoo - pity me's.. Simple, clean, beautiful.
How hard can it be to read a tracklist?? "Eyesore" not "Eye soar"!!
