Are you pacing back and forth?
have you wished for better days?
have you ever loved before?
that's not far away
i think you'll find a good life,
i think you'll find a new love.

don't back down, little girl,
cause you're gonna be alright,
step on out, it's a wide wide world
and you're gonna be alright
you're a star
you'll do fine
and you're gonna be alright
and you're gonna be alright

you gonna change the world some day,
but you wonder where to start
fillin' up the vacant spaces,
just being who you are.
i know you've got it in you
there's nothing that you can't do

ooohhh, don't back down little girl,
cause you're gonna be alright,
step on out it's a wide wide world
and you're gonna be alright
you're a star
you'll do fine
and you're gonna be alright
and you're gonna be alright

even when they tell you that it can't be done
it's not even possible to live a dream without altogether changing
but keep on don't stop keep believin' in the faith,
they'll be help along the way

hey don't back down little girl
cause you're gonna be alright
step on out it's a wide wide world
and you're gonna be alright
cause you're a star
you'll do fine
and you're gonna be alright
you're gonna be alright

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
