Said and Done Lyrics
Well here we are again. where we ended long ago.
You didn't learn, and i didn't listen to my friends
well where do we go from here? Tried to walk away
Look at us now, we're back in each other's way
You just keep wearing me out (wearing me out)
But I'm wearing you down
You still keep wearing me out (wearing me out)
But I'm wearing you down
Should be over this by now
Build me up to beat me down
I hate crawling back to you, crawling back to you
When all is done and said
there is a part of me that's dead
Nearly given up on you, giving up on you
I know how this will end. Love, loss, and regrets
You leave upset. I end up losing my best friend
Sounds too good to be true
one minute heart on the line, one more time
You're not willing to work this through
Should be over this by now
Build me up to beat me down
I hate crawling back to you, crawling back to you
When all is done and said
there is a part of me that's dead
Nearly given up on you, giving up on you
You just keep wearing me out (wearing me out)
But I'm wearing you down
You still keep wearing me out (wearing me out)
But I'm wearing you down
Should be over this by now
Build me up to beat me down
I hate crawling back to you, crawling back to you
When all is done and said
there is a part of me that's dead
Nearly given up on you, giving up on you
And now it's said and done
I'll be moving right along
And i'm giving up on you
You didn't learn, and i didn't listen to my friends
well where do we go from here? Tried to walk away
Look at us now, we're back in each other's way
But I'm wearing you down

I disagree with you. This is simple as a boy likes this girl but the girl only flirts with him to reject him in the end. He ends up crawling back to her to get rejected in the end once again. In the very end he gives up on her and a little piece of him dies. Vice Versa with the gender could be possible.
I love this song. So glad I got the Walmart version.
Likewise here. I almost bought the plain ol' reg. version.
I love this song. I am also glad I got the Walmart version. & I think the song is pretty self-explanatory, breaking up and moving on.
Stephen Christian always has a hidden meaning in his songs. They are rarely obvious. I believe that is the case in this song. He is talking about repentance and the guilt that is felt. Jesus Christ is "wearing me out" because it is hard to live with the guilt of a sin. It wears us out. We also wear Christ down when we sin because he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. At the end of the song is when Christian gives up, loses faith, and moves on.
Stephen likes to put Christian references in his songs but I don't see any in this song (no verbs and what not). But I guess this song can go either way by the way it's written. P.S. I'm agnostic.

Should be over this by now- it's about dependency in relationships!
Maybe they dated, and broke up. On and off relationship. She doesn't have faith in the relationship but they keep going back to it.
You just keep wearing me out (wearing me out) But I'm wearing you down
He's finally getting through to her, then realizes it over, and moves on.
