At one of their shows, Tegan said that its about falling in love.
Wow. This is super sad. But I love it. I think it's simply about playing "hard to get," and being prepared to put someone to the test of whether they'd want you bad enough to follow if you left.
They played this when I saw them but they said it was probably the first and last time we'd hear it because they don't know how they'd record it.
I think its about being in that awkward stage when you're getting over somewhere where you still want them back because its safe and you're afraid to love again 'if I love again and end up just the same'. So you're really confused and scared and think that maybe if you move away that person you loved will want you back, that they'll 'give chase'
