I personaly think that this is really romantic .. "When you're sad and no one knows it, I'll send you black roses" .. maybe the symbol is too gothic, but it's also a sing of affeion and love .. it's a flower, even though it's black.
The rest of the lyrics .. well, they don't make much sence to me .. and the methaphore about the boat .. xD
I still wonder why The Rasmus have chosen the symbol of a black rose, after they're not so dark, like in "Hide From the Sun", or too funeral-like in "Dead Letters" ??

I think this song is about love and lonliness someone that loves someone they nevber get to see they tell eachother to hold on and they will meet, the lryics "try to scream but nobody cares" makes me thin kthat they are the only people that care for eachother

i think it's about a guy who's kept away from the girl he loves. So when she's sad, he sends her black roses to tie in her hair and to renew her faith in him. And the black roses really ARE black roses, if you're wondering

i think it's about non-existent, mythical girl. he doesn't know her, but he loves. and he feels the same lonliness like she does. he tries to reach her, but he can't with all his might. and he says her: you're afar from me, but i'm gonna support you, when you feel bad
I have an idea about this song, perhaps it can be true. He sings: "When you're sad and no one knows it I'll send you black roses When your heart's dark and frozen I'll send you black roses Ten Black roses" And somehow I think the 10 black roses are the rest of the songs from the album :). It's nice to think that somehow is a message for us all.
