Frontier City Lyrics
Find yourself a new frontier
Cause life is going, going gone
Fly yourself away from here 'til you're clear
Before it's going, going, gone
Say it loud and in the light
For it's going, going gone
Shake the hands, the hands that pick people fight
Cause life is going, going gone
Yes I'll find you and cut you down
One time neighbours, sleepy town
If you wake up before the blow
Pick your face up
We come, we go
We live until we live no more
Travel with the dead black eye
Before it's come and come and gone
Cradles and rocking chairs beneath the light
Before it's come and come and gone
Yes I'll find you and cut you down
One-time neighbours, sleepy town
If you wake up before the blow
Pick your face up
We come, and go
We come and go, go
We come and go, go
Cause life is going, going gone
Fly yourself away from here 'til you're clear
Before it's going, going, gone
For it's going, going gone
Shake the hands, the hands that pick people fight
Cause life is going, going gone
One time neighbours, sleepy town
If you wake up before the blow
Pick your face up
We come, we go
We live until we live no more
Before it's come and come and gone
Cradles and rocking chairs beneath the light
Before it's come and come and gone
One-time neighbours, sleepy town
If you wake up before the blow
Pick your face up
We come, and go
We come and go, go
We come and go, go

Frontier City is an amusement park in Oklahoma City. Nathan worked there when he was 16 as a janitor picking up cigarette butts for his "a**hole boss" The song is a mixture of both Nathan and Caleb's experiences. In one of their home movies Caleb talks about how the song is about death coming to get you no matter what and how everyone at one point wishes that they could live forever. It was made by Caleb when he got out of surgery for his shoulder.
I love this song so much! It sucks that the song is only on the Only By the Night (Deluxe Version) on iTunes.
You are absolutely correct. You must be a die-hard fan! I love this song!

he wrote Closer after the surgery too, all doped up on pain killers and wine. Seems to me that's when he does his best writing!! Closer and this are two of my favorites by them. Caleb is a genius

I think it sounds more like:
"Fly yourself away from here, into the clear" "Shake the hands, the hands that pick, pick the fight" "Friends and neighbours, sleepy town"
But he is pretty hard to understand. Thanks for the lyrics =]
why this song wasnt on the album i dont know its easily one of the best songs ive ever heard by them!
So good.
Im glad not everyone who bought the album got this song. It's like pocket band kings all over again. I miss that. I miss old school kings. :)
true.love.way Is right. It definitely sounds a lot more like 'friends and neighbors'!
obviously the song Is about living and life ending but i want to know what the rest Is about! Like yes I'll find you. Never the less, awesome awesome song!
This song talks about the only amusement park in oklahoma. It is a really sleepy place and lonely too They talk bout their experience on their trips cause 2 of em were born in oklahoma
I heard it was about Nathan working at an amusment park called Frontier City when he was young. Or something like that. I can't truly remember. xD
But It's a simply amazing song. when i first heard it i had to stick it on repeat. :')
haha i couldn't take it off repeat when i first heard it. i love it & don't understand why it isn't on the album when it's clearly one of the their best songs.
This song is not on the CD-version of 'Only by the night'. It is an Vinyl-exclusive song. I don't know why since it is one of their greatest songs (in my opinion), but thats the way it is :)!
