After listening to this song more I've fallen in love with it. Makes me think of one of my best friends. One day he just disappeared. Haven't talked to him in six months.

I like it, don't know what the meaning is though. :D Suppose I have to listen some more. Miss Carah's voice, but I really like this song. Can't wait för the new album. :D Hopefully it'll sound mostly like this song, and less like Ricochet. ... That song'll prolly grow on me. I hope so. Don't want to dislike shinys. >:

i'm just guessing but maybe it's about how carah left. someone, a best friend or boyfriend, who was once there is now gone. the poet misses that particular person very much and wishes to see them. he or she feels like they are so physically far apart- oceans are big. but maybe the person they're missing is right there physically, just not really 'there' anymore. but that's just my interpretation.

I think this song is about being in love with someone who isn't available, whether its physically or emotionally. It could also be someone who lives "10,000 miles" away (a person in the millitary?)

This song is so beautiful. When I first heard it, I was amazed that a song like this could come from this band [even with songs like 'You Are The One'].

The song, the way I see it, represents two lovers who have parted ways. Because the female vocalist is singing most of the song, you can assume that she is the lover who was scorned from the separation. From this song, it feels like she was maybe separated from him [the male; through death or maybe unfortunate events] and longs to be with him again.

These lyrics impose that because of her loss of her love that she has given up on life, or is just generally discouraged. Also because of this, it causes her to realize who her real friends are.

This part of the song can be interpreted many ways. The way I see it, she is singing of the time when she'll be able to see her lover again, and her excitement when she finally sees him once more. This kind of strongly suggests he's maybe dead--these lyrics imply that there's a huge amount of distance between them, but 'love' or the 'frozen ocean' connects them together even through death.

The rest of the song kind of follows suit with this interpretation, what with the girl being alone and sad, and then the chorus again and the repeat of 'I Can't Wait'.

It kinda reminds me of Memoirs of a Geisha [the main lead-girl and the Chairman], and how everything in her life leads up to that one moment when she meets the Chairman again.

im thinking it's about two people and they love each other and all that and one of them has to go, perhaps here since it says "you'll be standing on the shore" like shes coming back to him. so they're away from each other and they still love each other but the distance (10,000 miles apart) makes it a bit harder to remember (a frozen ocean joins our hearts) so its like their feelings are frozen, still there but muted and numbed by the distance, but it sounds like they remember each other quite well enough to wait for the separation to end so they can be together again and happy and all that.

I agree with erinxosmile, because thats a situation i am in right now, and it sounds so much like it.
