I can't believe no one has commented on this yet... it's such an amazing song. I believe this song is about a long distant relationship, and the guy is telling her how much he wants to be there with her, ("If the state lines that we were born into,Were ten miles high and we could not get through, I'd be by your side still this very day"). the girl he is referring to in the second verse is probably some girl who likes him but he doesnt want to be with her, and hes telling her not to be worried, because shes the only one he thinks about.
