Early Mourning

You may believe this to be just another love song, but it's not. Many Alesana fans will realize that the songs from "On the Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax" are based off of GREEK MYTHS/LEGENDS. Now while many will think of this as a lovesick song about breakups, I offer a different meaning. The Greek Myth that I believe "Early Mourning" to be based off of is the "Tale of Orpheus and Eurydice". Don't know it? Google can help with that.

i personally think she committed suicide. shes in the sky hence the stars. " i feel alone too" loneliness

I think this is a song about loving somebody that has died (Disease, accident, suicide)

"Kiss my closing eyes Help me sleep without you I'm so lost Tonight I cry Tell me why I can't live without your warm embrace" He's singing about about how he can't live with out his love, he misses his love so much that he can't stand the pain coming from it.

I'll see you soon means that he has hope about seeing his love in another life/Afterlife.

The person who wrote this song actually wrote it about his best friend who died of drug overdose.

This is a good song... but

"Im alone too, i dont understand why' should be "and im alone to understand why."

its "and tonight i cry" intead of just "tonight i cry"

and "i will forget you soon" should be "i wont forget you"

I think this song is about his lifelong love dying unexpectedly and tragically.

but he thinks, 'why shouldn't I feel pain? Why does it matter? We all die in the end, and she's still alive somewhere else..' [in heaven] and he hopes she's never forgotten. then in some sort of way he dies, or he feels like he's dead. But he'll see her soon.

amazing all i can say :) so scary how a song could be so breath taking Alesana is one of the most underated bands... :) oh well they shouldn't be underated with songs as amazing as this...

I think this song is about a second chance. The words in the chorus "Why not one more night, one last kiss goodbye my sweet love tonight."

And also, it could be about going through a break-up, where the chorus fits too. But then the last line "I hope the stars still spell out your name where you are." I think that he still wants to see her
